If Struijk doesn't start against Derby for the 2nd game in a row, I reckon he is on his way. Forget the injury smokescreen bullshizer...🤐

Why the f00k would we "trade" Struijk for some nobody from Eastern Europe?
If Struijk doesn't start against Derby for the 2nd game in a row, I reckon he is on his way. Forget the injury smokescreen bullshizer...🤐
Idiot... Played the last one, and on the bench the game before! 😀 Still...if he is on the bench again v Derby, I'd be a little concerned.
Struijk penned his contract terms back in Dec 2022 & he is still under contract until 2027, so thats gonna give Leeds some serious leverage if & when any offers do arrive for his services.
Have said before Pascals lack of pace was the only issue I noted in his PL games & sadly his injury record requires management too still.
Allegedly on a salary of 2,600,00 pounds which makes him joint-fourth highest earner behind Bamford, Firpo & Solomon this season.
To be fair 3 players of the 5 in this post I have mentioned do have disruptive injury issues.
Regardless, reading that Leeds are reportedly keen on securing Pascal with a new long-term contract so it remains uncertain publicly whether Struijk would actually be willing to push for a transfer away from Leeds ?
But the club is gonna say that either way. 😃
So, if we are gonna lose a central defender or maybe need a better one next season then logically Khusanovs stats are why hes being looked at seriously for sure, but he wont be sold for peanuts !
Khusanov is very impressive & almost never gets caught out by opposing attackers & has a calming demeanor along with an impressive tough athletic frame of 6ft 1 of 84 kg which dominates his opponents physically & mentally, particularly his clean tackling timing technique.
RC Lens, now under Coach Will Self (the Coach who famously caught the eye when at Reims), always starts with 3 centre-backs & the wider two will typically play far more aggressively than the central centre-back who is Khusanov.
The wider centre-backs will step out & carry the ball forward in possession more than Khusanov who stays central & reads any developing dangerous situations very well.
Spurs & Newcastle have regular scouts onto Khusanov as have a few Spanish big guns too according to local press here & RC Lens being geographically close but poorer neighbours to French Ligue 1 rival neighbours of Lille & Rennes will want big bucks for him if he leaves in January, for sure, as they currently sit in a healthy 7th place in French Ligue1.
Interesting situation but I am surprised with the Spurs Pascal link, to be honest.

Pace is invaluable now in the game where robust tackling is penalised. Good first touch helps too.
Not familiar with Ligue 1.
is the pace equivalent to the prem and championship?
French Ligue 1 is very similar to middle PL & upper Championship currently, Spaldy.
The aim in this league currently has more emphasis on counter-attack & goal to goal football, primarily to get fans into the stadiums of the less flash clubs occupying the league who cannot attract the big name players but who try to entertain regardless for their fans.
With DAZN securing the rights to broadcast 8 games per matchday for 400 million euros (414 million dollars) & beIN SPORTS France acquiring the remaining weekly match for 100 million euros then financially Ligue 1's total revenue from media rights has fallen to around 500 million euros, so down 32% from its peak value pre-COVID !
So stadium revenue, good football & happy fans matter, more so now in France.
I see lots of Euro league games on TV, Spains La Liga is more into style of attack , German Bundasliga doesn't have as much ball skills of dribbling or real pure skill players in their league as it's just a basic tactical approach style of football, currently. Italian Serie A is is still one of the best football leagues in the world to watch & defo is the most tactical defensively sound National league, imo.Not the style for everybody but its utterly fascinating to watch pure intelligent disciplined skill sets out manoeuvring one another regardless, for me anyway. ☺
So fair to say currently that the French Ligue 1 is more into attacking attractive football but generally not so good at the defending of it.
So owners of clubs tend to employ Coaches with the emphasis to play this way & hopefully getting sell out stadiums watching too. But alas all French club supporters accept that their better players move on but this is balanced with the excitement of new talents arriving too each season.
French stadia are noisy venues so are a great incentive to perform your talents, so do possess a great grounding for a players career, for sure.
24 French players are in the 2024/25 PL including several decent central-defenders like William Saliba at Arsenal, Leny Yoro at Man U & Jean-Clair Todibo at West Ham on loan from Nice (with an option to make the transfer permanent in 2025).
So yes, the top 6 clubs in French Ligue 1 could hold their own in PL or indeed any current Euro league, imo, but money as ever is the key to eventual success, likewise in France & its why so many French players move away to pop up in many great European club sides today & not always for big bucks signings either if picked up when young showing promise.
I'm Working today Spaldy - so Happy New Year to you & family & Everyone else on Mad too. Xxx 👍
