It's not always the club that calls it off it's also down to SYP. Having said that, I've only seen two coppers at the top of Main Street the last two home games??

Given the forecast up to weekend I should save the energy if I were the club because there’s no chance of a thaw before then. I was at the ground today and there’s almost no snow and ice around the stadium but the pitch itself must be solid and certainly will by weekend.

Surely the cover went down before the temperature dropped ?

Looking at the forecast, Saturdays match going ahead got to be in doubt

If this went up after the ground has frozen,it will only retain the temperature as it was, won't it?.Had Sky not being televising this match,I wonder whether we would be trying to save it going ahead to this extent.

It's basically an enormous tent with warm air being pumped in. The pitch will be fine but health and safety issues for travelling supporters might kibosh the game being played. Bolton have sold their 2000 allocation but getting across might be a problem

All Bolton Wanderers supporters club coaches fully booked for travel to Rotherham.
Some more tickets allocated to Bolton Wanderers, to go on sale this afternoon,
on top of the 1,947 already allocated & sold.

Another factor is how much are the club prepared to spend to make all the walkways to and from the stadium all free from ice and snow. Last thing they need is folk submitting claims for falling etc.

Saturday's temperature is showing as -4 overnight and as little as 1 degree all day. Yes you would have expected the pitch to be okay it's what it's like getting there that is paramount.

To be fair I went to the ground yesterday to pick up my tickets and the walkways and car parks were completely clear so it’s only the pitch I’d be concerned about. Let’s hope they got the cover on in time?
