Absolutely agree 123. It makes me squirm when I hear so called experts who commentate on our games refer to our excellent bench. We are probably top 8 material with our best XI but when we use our bench we drop below that level. We may have shed loads of experience on the bench but they are mostly on the downward stage of their playing careers. I think that we have had the opportunity to blood some of our youngsters in recent games but chose to go for the more experienced players. Lets hope the new manager allows the younger members of our squad to show their talents.

Totally agree with both yourself and 123 here!

As regards Corberan, he really did pull us out of the mire and I'm sure club and fans alike will not forget what he achieved for us but it's also difficult not to agree with Al that performances kind of reached a plateau and a change was likely needed to move us onto the next step. The issue, of course, will be finding the right manager to do so.

It clearly isn't just about the manager though, its also about the quality of the players available to him and I don't think that anyone would disagree that we need to ship out the (often well paid) under-performers and bring in new blood to strengthen the squad.

Heggem and Styles have been great acquisitions, Diakate is at last beginning to show what he may be capable of and even Holgate has been much better than I anticipated but we've also recruited far too many poor squad fillers that need to go as well as the likes of Wallace, Diangana and Swift. The last two undoubtedly have skills but are far too inconsistent.

Now Rene Hake is odds on favourite for the job. All sounds a bit fishy to me!

The pool of out of work managers is increasing by the day. Lopetegui is on the market this afternoon and he still has a house close by. Also Rob Edwards is hanging on by a thread and everyone expects Sean Dyce to join them soon.

I am of the view with any management change there should be a new coaching team and new ideas including potential new faces. We wouldn?t want another Cole or Dobbin would we!

I love Brunty but he should have been his own man and been brave - played those youngsters and not reverted to type with Wallace and Cole.
    Big mistake!

PS - I wonder what Stats dictated bringing on Coke by Abella at Swansea. Awful decision and as Prando said - he knew the goal would be coming.
I just hope we are all happy after the appointment. Heres to that!

They've cast their net far and wide but he is the sole contender at the moment.
