Probably the striker he has wanted all along, but if you can't get the player you want at a price you can afford, it can be frustrating being a football manager as fans attack you for "bad" signings or not getting the players required in.
Latest rumour is we may be getting matt Clarke, CB on loan from Middlesboro - would be good if we can, he has played in two seasons for the club on loan from Derby and is a strong tall defender just whats required.
A win would be much appreciated please. Today's game is one we really need to be winning especially after yesterday's result.
Going for a 3 1 Derby.
Should be 1 nil. Terrible decision to give offside
Didn’t think ‘dry January’ applied to football but our record was P6 L6 so thank God that’s done.
51 points left to play for and a couple of tough fixtures to start February.
Last season 51 points were needed to stay in the Championship and we’re currently 24 away from that.
Maths may not be my strong point but it looks like we need an approximate return approaching 50% from the last 17 matches.
Given our record since October that’s a massive ask. A change of fortune and two or three excellent signings urgently required please.

Ozoh back is a positive as is nyambe, salveson look a player.
Lost in 2 minutes today, might have been a different game had the perfectly good goal stood.
Perhaps Clowes should take a leaf from Forests owner and resort to bullying, intimidation and assault when results don't go our way.
On that note, assume the officials where all supporters of the other top 4 rivals in the PL today
Mm, another game where fine margins went against the team. However, questions have been asked and the pressure on Warne will continue until we get a positive result. I still believe we will escape but we need a CB and another midfielder in pronto!
I recall us being in a bad spell last season or so and being concerned with PW's ability to handle it. He come out of it well, and maybe we can see a turn in fortunes, I hope so.
We're in that spot where Chairman's need to make decisions. Does he pull the trigger, or stick to the plan? I'd say sticking to the plan is harder when fan pressure gets on top and results aren't good.
Well. What to say. The better team 1st half. What still looks like a perfectly good 1st half goal chalked off. Early doors, IMO, Yates should have aimed at the far post rather than the near one and any half decent strike would have gone in. Then we had the goal chalked off. The balance in the 1st half was highlighted by the booing they got as they walked off at HT.
2ns half, different kettle of fish. They were the better side. Gifted the first, IMO, by JWZ who had no need to try to palm it away, he could have kept hold, I would have. the 2nd saw Cash commit too early around the halfway line, too open at the back as too many were heading upfield to attack. El Ghazi left in miles of space and he's way too good to miss from there.
Salvesen got a good goal, had one shot and a header straight at the keeper. He'll prove a good signing.
They've not said what CBT did but, the way he went down, I think it's yet another cruciate ligament injury for a Derby player. That along with hamstring injuries seem to be our "go to" injuries.
So, on we go. Sheff U at home will se high flying opposition desperate to recover from their 3-0 home defeat to Hull. Then Norwich away. Another one that won't be easy. Oxford at home and QPR away are, IMO, must win jobs. Millwall at home is a can win, mustn't lose, for me, me and 'er indoors will be there. If we get 8 points from that lot in Feb, we'll have done OK.
Matty Clarke rumoured to be announced tomorrow. Knibbs is down to Reading finally saying yes on Feb 2nd/3rd when nobody has come in to gazump our offer, is another unconfirmed rumour. Froula, the BM player currently on loan to Utrecht is another rumour but the clubs say they haven't spoken so that's probably BS.
Onwards and upwards? I bloody well hope so.
On the negative side, Cash stayed out clapping the fans for a long, long time. Tears in his eyes and, as he left the pitch, gave his shirt to a member of staff. Many fans are reading that to have been a farewell.... hope not but if BHA or similar have come in with a huge-ish offer the club could possibly spend on 3 or 4 improvements and go for it and Cash deciding he wants to try his luck higher up... who could blame either party for accepting. If it happens, I'll always remember Cash with fondness. IF he goes that will leave just Tommo from the 2019 U18 Champions of England squad. What might have been? The core of that side plus a few of the young guns we were forced to let go of during the Mel Meltdown... We can but dream.
