Tsaroulla is really good on the left as well, so its a tough choice to make.

Apart from the non penalty decision the ref was excellent tonight. Didnt fall for any nonsense and was entirely right to make our players get off the pitch by the shortest route, if only there were more like her.
    Great post fully agree

Grant doesn't seem like a long-term replacement for Crowley. As the OP said, he shows some neat touches in tight areas, but he just doesn't affect the game enough. I'd like to see more of him as an attacking threat to justify him being one of the two behind Jatta.

Jones defo not at his best yet, but it'll come.

The back three were great as usual. And fair play to Hinchy - he's much more of a presence than he was earlier in the season.

Looking forward to see what Whittaker and Jarvis can do as we're lacking a bit of a spark in the final third.

When he receives the ball he looks cramped and boxed in, often having to play the pass back because of the body position he has to adopt for his first touch. I feel uncomfortable for him. It's like facing backwards on a train!

Jodi claims he likes playing on the right, and I can only think that's because it offers the chance to cut inside and shoot for glory, but opponents know what he's going to do and can cope with it more easily, whereas on the left he can beat his defender down the outside and put in great crosses. He offers far more to the team when he plays on that natural side.

If we persist with the current tactic then I fear we'll only ever see half the player we know Jodi can be. He'll still have great moments, like the one he almost had last Saturday, because he is fundamentally so talented, but he won't be the constant and consistent threat he is when he plays down the left.

Absolutely agree. Best referee of the season, and I'm not saying that to be politically correct, I'm saying it because it's true. So many refs clearly want the game to be all about them - this one didn't.
    Certainly the best looking 👌
Oi what about the pen ?

Matty Platt MOM for me, he held us together at the back and is the most consistent player we've got. I don't get the criticism of McGoldrick, I thought he was 7 out of 10 at least. I know a lot of his fancy flicks didn't come off, but he was the only one trying to create something. He also covered every yard of the pitch, was constantly involved and was the first line of defence. He gave a lesson in effort and workrate to some of the younger players. Zac Johnson looked good when he came on, McDonald has done a decent job on the right but is sometimes hindered by being left footed. It would be interesting to see what Johnson offers if he's given a start.

Bass - 6 handling was good with what were routine saves but one sloppy pass out almost cost us
McDonald - 6 he can defend but SM is killing him playing him on the wrong side which says more about Cundy than it does McDonald time for Johnson though
Platt - 6.5 exposed by pace but was steady throughout
Bedeau - 6.5 quick and strong and knows how to defend which he did without fuss
Jones - 5 played full back the majority of the time, playing inverted wastes his ability to beat a man and put a ball in on the run
Grant - 5 doesn?t sprint and has the power of a 3 watt bulb when it comes to shooting. Not convinced he?s anything above NL level.
Hinchy -6 will tackle and lay off but their midfield constantly ran past him has no pace and played far too deep.
Abbott - 6.5 wasn?t his best performance but he didn?t hide and kept trying.
Tsaroulla - 6 brief moments of good wing play and steady the rest, still not convinced by him.
Jatta - 6 his header he took well but needs to work on his left foot and use it as he missed a great opportunity to pull the trigger in the first half but doesnt want to use his swinger. Ran around a lot but if he doesnt score I dont think he looks anything special.
McGoldrick - 6.5 worked his socks off but daft flicks and back heels didnt work but his other play was good.
Johnson - 6.5 grew into the game and opens up on the correct foot unlike McDonald, need to now start.
Edwards - 5 runs around but offers little
Gordon - 5 good crosses in but is a full back that cant defend.
Jarvis - not long enough to offer a mark but oh dear
Maynard - 5 had no answer yet again to constant pressure but that may be down to no attack options on the bench which needs to be addressed

Bass - 6 - All the saves he made were routine. Plays that hospital pass into midfield that they hit the post from more often than you?d want.

McDonald - 6 - A very solid defender but clearly uncomfortable in possession on the right side of the three.

Platt - 7 - Was done for pace by that Hugill several times in the first half, which probably contributed to us dropping a few yards deeper in the second. Defended the box really well at the end.

    Bedeau - 7 - I just think he?s great.

Jones - 5 - Only way we?ll get him back to proper fitness is playing him, but he?s miles off it at the minute.

Tsaroulla - 7 - Played well I thought, positive running forward and defended fine.

Hinchy - 6 - Less influential than on Saturday but didn?t do anything wrong.

Abbott - 6 - Quiet game and got away with two or three turns into trouble in his own half.

Grant - 6 - Good first half, moves the ball on quickly, but seems to tire very quickly in the second half each game.

McGoldrick - 5 - Worked hard but nothing really came off. Probably should?ve scored in the first half, was a decent save to be fair.

Jatta - 6 - Great header for the goal. Think the next step for him is offering more as an outlet when we?re under a bit of pressure - he?s got the pace and frame to do it.

    ?

Thought the subs all did fine and helped see it through. Johnson and Gordon particularly. Jarvis could?ve been a bit more selfish at the end and taken his man on properly, but was always looking to find McGoldrick.

I suspect Jones was asked to shadow his namesake for Carlisle, who seemed to be their most creative player
If Palmer and Sam Austin were available it's unlikely he'd have started or stayed on so long
Only the manager can say for sure
Didzy wouldn't have played so many minutes either
It was Edwards and Didzy who galvanized us late on when Carlisle were threatening and too many of our guys were backing off
The squad is looking stronger and isn't it nice for us to be a bit fed up with a scruffy win that puts us 2nd in the table
It's better than some of the capitulations we suffered last year

If it's the Tsarulla incident you mean regarding the pen then he took to long to go down, he took an extra couple of steps before falling never a pen. imo.
