With regards your first sentence I think he does both

He's been the best midfielder and the best passer of the ball. His vission for the runner has been brilliant. I can't see how Odoffin can match or better that.

Thing is he's always going to be that sitting midfielder who breaks up play and gives the simple pass/easy ball. . It will work if we have someone around him to created play as Powell did Bolton/Charlton.. and Sibley could be. imo ru66 is right and most of us can see it. We need that right side of midfield to balance us up and inturn give the defence some protection

A lot like Kari Arneson, his strengths are also his weaknesses.
His laid back and languid style is class. But it can be mistaken for sloppiness at this level when he isn?t racing 50 yards to foul someone or kick it into the stands.
