I should do Chalky,I worked in Barlick (slang local name) for 32 yrs at Rolls Royce. 😁😁
A few shops pubs and cafes there Chalky, but not much else . You would be much better going to Skipton (5 mles away) which is a lovely town with plenty of history ,shops pubs ,canal and a lovely Castle .Also a super walk through Skipton Woods .. It also has a pie shop called " Stanforths" which sells absolutely delicious Pork pies 🥧 the best in Yawkshire.
A great outdoor market on the main St Saturday as well. 👍

Keighley and Worth Valley Railway is 10 mins from Skipton Chalky . You can visit Haworth as the train stops there, that's where the Brontes lived,a Bronte museum which is good and a fantastic old cobbled street with loads of interesting stuff to see.

Thats the kind of great advice thst I was looking for and after whst Alf and bdb has told me I am going to get a b+b in Skipton and make the most of my visit while I am there,Skipton sounds exactly like the place that I like to visit plus I have never been there before,I have got a gig to go to in Barnoldswick and was going to stopover there but Skipton sounds far better,I may even try to blend in as a local and walk around with a pie in my hand

    Thanks for the replies

Hebden Bridge is a nice place to visit tbh? a smaller version of Skipton with a few charity shops & antique shops. Also has a Canal & a river flowing through it.
