Dread to think how many season ticket holders we will lose if there arent some big changes.
Surely now the bros are taking note! If the boring turgid footy doesn't concern them, the decline in gates surely must !

The brothers have said many times that they don't just look at results and league position, which can sometimes be false, but performance statistics. On that basis, they can't have been happy with what they've seen for quite a few weeks now.

Depending on what performance stats they look at tho.. I remember last season Williams saying the performance stats were good, but we had started to lose games consistently.
There will be plenty of positive stats from last night? the only stat that should ever matter is goals scored v goals conceded.

I was looking at FotMob last night, and for their "FotMob rating" metric, we're top of L2. I don't know exactly how they calculate this, but I'd imagine it's a combination of xG for and against, plus some other metrics. Some clubs (like Forest) are way higher in the table than their respective FotMob rating, while others (Notts) are below.

Not that it matters. Luck tends to iron itself out over time, and we need to be better in front of goal and at the back. We're too wasteful and sloppy at the moment. What good did all that possession last night do? Why didn't we put a poor Barrow side under more pressure? Why is it so easy to sit deep against us? Sit deep against an "old-school" side like Wrexham and they'd just bombard you all night until you crumble. We need to be more pragmatic and have another plan when the possession-based play isn't working.

So, I think what you mean is that we need a plan B.
You might think - surely that can't be THAT difficult? But it's the footballing world equivalent of "General Relativity" 1915!

Last night felt a bit like a season-ender. I know there's plenty of football to be played, but we just don't look like a promotion side. Playoffs at best, and I have very little faith that we'd get beyond the semis. Burchnallesque.

It's weird that we're even in the playoff spots. We've been up there all season, but it's never really felt like a promotion campaign. If we compare it to that season under Nolan when we were in a similar position, it felt like we were actually gunning for promotion then. There was a lot more unity. The football wasn't great, but it was effective. I dunno what we're trying to do anymore, especially at home.

Promotion campaigns should be exciting. This is somehow depressing.

We?ve gained relative composure and solidity at the back but it appears to be at the expense of a strong midfielder and proper quick wingers.
May be an old fashioned set up but give me that above these inverted wingbacks who can?t defend or attack with any endeavour any day.

They are nowhere near enough equipped for L1...it's going to require a major overhaul to be competitive up there.
