Earlier in the season, many on here were crying out for a quality striker to replace Macca.
But with Jatta's form in the first half of the season, and David McG's amazing contribution, It papered over the cracks somewhat. However, I think we're beginning to know the first priority for our new DOF.

We are missing a Neil Bishop type player in midfield..

We?ve been missing a Bish type player for years. Robertson was supposed to be the ?foot in? type player, but unfortunately his injuries have meant we?re still short of that type.
When Abbott is gone, I?ll be honest, imo, I?d be looking for 2 new midfielders. Palmer is good on his day, but hasn?t been anywhere near his best since the injury. And let?s not mention the set pieces?

Regan Linney is 28 this year , so surely Langstaff still a better proposition

Everyone will agree, Jatta hit the ground running, and that makes judging Traore this season difficult. (Though to be fair?in last few games Jatta has looked poor and someone said to me we should have snapped off Portsmouth?s hand at a million the other day!)
A preseason with whoever the manager is, and then we can see who Traore really is.

Corners, free kicks have all been a total waste of time. But to some they have been incredible...70% possession in our own half, one worthwhile shot on goal.. Incredible ...

totally agree. It's also fair to say we've been missing a Platt type and a Bedeau type (AND a Bass type lets be right) for a decade or so, so you know, they are ticking the boxes!

Our midfield is definitely going to need a revamp next season whatever division we're in imo. Can't rely on (Abbott) or Jones or Palmer as driving forces as it stands. We need a Bish, and an RR/DC type imho.

so we have Jatta , Traore, Mcgoldrick and Morias as out and out strikers with back up from Jarvis and Whitaker as attacking midfielders / wing back and JJ when he is fully fit etc i'm not sure if its attacking players we are short off ?

He needs a full pre season like Jatta had I think before we see what he can do

Jatta was already showing real quality by this point last season. Those two goals away at Bradford, for example. Traore hasn't really shown anything yet, and the fact he hasn't started since his one and only start is quite telling.
