I love the passing football but not last night's version, minutes of slow build up only to result in a poor cross or lose it.
He said the usual good set of players will bounce back, but when ? He said the same last week, bring Williams back please, this season looks a write off

Whilst for most parts of the season I?ve been a bit 50-50 on Maynard and always questioned if he has the xfactor to lead players to say a title seems a stretch.

That said at what point do you question the players? On the whole they seem to get somewhat of a free pass and it?s gets laid at Maynard?s feet.

I don?t buy the rubbish it?s solely down to him to motivate them. Their professional footballers and it should be their own drive and pride to go and win their individual battles and not to mention the 10k of people who have turned up to support them in doing so.

Interesting week for the owners, do they roll the dice and go for LW who seems the obvious choice with the play offs looming. That said did he actually get a tune out of the team in the playoffs? I think we were slightly the better team in both games but far from convincing but ultimately we got over the line.

    Decision time?

For me get rid of Maynard and give the job on a temp basis to Williams then decide at the end of season where to go ?

If we dont get promoted I cant see Maynard staying in the job anyway and at thus moment the chances of us getting promoted are about zero.

Williams has got to want it first. He could well be lined up for the MK job, could even be a an agreement in place and wants a break to take it in the summer.

I don?t sign on to we?re in a desire situation currently. We have a team that can control and win a lot of games, but some teams that are basically physical and also have a little about them we struggle big time.

Salford spend decent money, I think it?s just been posted they lost over 3m last year so they?re spending decent money like a lot of L2 teams.

Them like us have a playing style that suits some games and not others, pretty much the picture of most of League 2 and I?m sure every fan has their complaints when it?s not working.

Putting the Maynard debate to one side.

Notts have been really unlucky with injuries. JJ our best player has been unavailable or unfit pretty much all season.
Crowley, one of league 2's standout performers was sold and not replaced in January.
Two first team coaches were let go without adequate experienced replacement in January(?).

I don't put any of the above at Maynards door. At what point should we start asking the question has our first team coach been adequately supported from above?
All managers need some help, especially inexperienced ones.

I do think he's getting hung out to dry a little.

Do we have the budget to get promoted? We always have a budget to challenge for the play offs and that means we then have to rely on the Radar finding the players cheap and then coached by a good coach/manager. I'd say Port Vale and Bradford will be 2 of the top 3 and they both will have bigger budgets than us.
Our home form this season has been dreadful with some really poor losses along the way. Last night was the pinnacle of them really and really can't continue into next season.
