2 more subs (much needed fresh legs)
JKL for TL
and
CL for KH
Ah well, point 'won' in the end ...
Big up to Max Sanders, Filip Marshall and the back four ...
In the circumstances, a good point. The ref seemed determined to give Colchester every chance. However, I don't want to hear from Bell about togetherness, spirit or heroism. They defended well but Colchester were pretty clueless up front. I thought JKL was really good when he came on. How the referee could give a penalty in those circumstances is just unbelievable.
So, one point closer to the top seven. Why does hope linger on?
So red card overturned. But that's a bit of justice but not really enough. It completely changed the game so that the club had to concentrate of protecting the draw. Without the red, however improbable we might think, the Alex may have got 2 extra points, which would have really altered the complexion of the the final run-in. 2 points behind with 3 games is a whole different kettle of fish from our current position.
I think in this situation its clear that sending a man off will affect the result of the game and not just that, hundreds or thousands of fans have to travel long distances to see the games at enormous expense and the only justification for a bad decision by the ref is for the EFL to award us three points for the game. Of course some competitors will scream but it may have cost us 3 points and of course if the league have to award 3 points then it may make the referee far more cautious about giving red cards out. I think a 15 minute penalty could be introduced instead of a sending off unless it is a very violent foul then a red card would be justified.
Two points could affect the play off positions and why introducing further measures would be justified. Does the ref in the game on Friday suffer any penalties? A bad smell obviously!
However the fact that we have only won three games in 16 matches ie a third of the season, leads to the same bad smell! Get rid of all the non players to get more money into the squad is my recommendation. One manager was all that was needed for over 100 years. What has changed in the games to justify having dozens of hangers on? The crowds were bigger then as well.
And while moaning who the ***** came up with sending us to Colchester on a Bank Holiday Friday when in the old days we would have had Port Vale or Tranmere.....Oh fans fighting hey? Well we have enough Police at games now and we may as well give them something to do..
