Tim Keyes should get rid of Nelms who is the root cause of all the problems in Dundee Football Club.
Gary Bowyer was a good manager but Nelms fell out with him because Gary Bowyer told Nelms the truth.
Incidentally none of the Dundee FC board of directors including Nelms were present at last night’s dinner which used to happen in previous years when Nelms sat with his ‘minder’ Kenny Ross.

I think the stats surrounding TD's tenure as manager tell a story that looks like he could not organise a team to defend.

I struggle to believe that this inability could not be cured. He has never been able to explain why not having a bigger, stronger midfield, over his period as our manager, was not possible.

It would also be interesting to know what influence the Burnley and Mexico connections had on his decisions.

The manager can only sign the players depending on funds he is given by Nelms for his playing budget.
Interestingly Tony Docherty had to get rid of Curtis Main to free up funds to sign Donnelly.
Normally the owners/directors of football clubs provide extra funds at the January transfer window to sign suitable players for the remainder of the season.
Tim Keyes does not appear to have provided extra funds for Tony Docherty during the January 2025 transfer window.
Nelms and/or Keyes should be explaining if they really want Dundee FC to be a Premier League Club and they should be explaining why they sacked Gary Bowyer after winning the Championship in May 2023 and Tony Docherty the day after the Dundee FC team managed to finish in 10th place at the end of this season securing Premier League status for next season despite selling our best player Luke McCowan just before the Summer 2024 transfer window closed.
Mr Nelms. Forget about your new stadium development at Campy Nou and spend the money giving the manager the ability to put the best available team on the Dens Park pitch.

I am irritated at you posting that "in previous years Nelms used to sit with his minder Kenny Ross."

What on earth does that mean?

Firstly Nelms has never sat next to me at any DFC dinner; POY, HOF, Sponsors Dinner etc. not one - ever.

Secondly what does "his minder mean"? Why did you write that? What are you implying?

You know this is what I get for being accommodating to you? You were not a member of a DSA member club and yet I let you come to a couple of dinners after you complained on here it was a closed shop (it?s not - it?s an event for members)

By the sounds of things, got to go again. Are you a member of a DSA club now?

The dinners you were at when I was running the DSA, was I ever sitting next to Nelms? Anything other than no is a lie and the DSA committee could confirm this. I sat with the guest speakers and former players and never once sat at a DFC table.

Why on earth would you even write that when you saw that wasn't the case?

Don?t bring me into your personal vendetta with Nelms

Thank you for your email which I have just replied to.
Incidentally John Nelms crossed a Red Line when he stated a pack of lies about a visit my wife and I had to the Dundee Football Club offices on 5th October 2022 in his letter to the Dee4life board of directors. I will never ever forget what John Nelms stated in his letter.
He might a pal of yours but I have no time for him especially as he dragged my wife who is a Football widow into the lies stated in his letter which I still have a copy of in the saved box of my iPad.

Why don’t you publicise this letter?

What does any of that have to do with you calling somebody John Nelms' minder?

Is it wrong for anyone to state (in your words only because we have no proof that it ever happened) 'a pack of lies' about you but perfectly acceptable for you to do the same about another? Because that's how this latest rant of yours reads. You've written a pack of lies about an individual who always did his best for the association he was a senior member of but who now gets abuse from you for doing his best.

I expect your email to K. R. might have contained a form of very reluctant apology but in all honesty your failure to issue this apology publicly, on here, after slating the guy so publicly, on here, paints a picture of a very bitter and twisted individual.

Seriously Islay I think your bitter obsession with JN is getting increasingly out of hand and I reckon you need help. You've obviously told lies about Kenny Ross now as part of your vitriolic attacks on JN and it looks as if you have had to apologise privately. Your obsession with JN has reached such a level it's a wonder you don't blame him for all the ills of Calmac and Argyll and Bute council too.

I'm no apologist for JN and reckon that he should be taken to task for a good number of things e.g. his communication skills or lack of them, perceived interference in team matters, certain aspects of Camperdown etc. but I would not conduct such a campaign against him, such as you maintain, or indeed hold such an obsession grudge.

You may claim that you were mistaken or inadvertently misrepresented the situation with Kenny Ross rather than telling an outright lie; maybe JN's 'lies' are in the same vein with you. You really have to let it go, continue posting on team matters, Camperdown as well (although your objections in this regard go far beyond mine verging into obsession and irrational here too), continue to be our foreign correspondent in Islay reporting on ferries, distilleries, peat bogs, useless councillors etc. but for the sake of your own sanity and the rest of Mad's readers and poster's peace of mind tone it down a bit all matters JN.

There was no apology - the opposite. He bizarrely questioned my educational qualifications and having sent him six pictures of the 2019 dinner which showed Nelms sitting with Jim Thompson and his wife, denied it saying I must have sent pictures from another night. The pics included the former player guests and also the interim manager James McPake to prove the correct year, but he wasn't having it saying, "You were sitting next to John Nelms and there was no sign of Renee Nelms at the dinner so I reckon that you have enclosed the wrong photographs in your email". I sent him proof and can do no more except move on.
He also complained about a bar of DFC chocolate that he won in the raffle was close to being out of date. (We had over 50 prizes in the raffle to make sure every table won at least one prize and the chocolate was donated by the club shop with a host of other things).
The rant continued about the letter from Nelms and that he wants a public apology and I suggested he let it go and move on.

Sadly you just have to try to ignore him. He's a bitter and twisted old man with a bee in his bonnet (several really) and a completely irrational hatred of John Nelms.

We both know he'll complain about absolutely anything he can to anyone that will listen but a bar of chocolate? And to question someone's professional credentials - just wow.

He claims to research things when what he actually does is forms an opinion, based on his own skewed and very outdated view of the world, looks for anything he can to back his opinion up, presents it as absolute proof that he's right and then point blank refuses to accept any clear evidence that contradicts it. Hence, despite you presenting evidence to him he just will not accept it - ever.
