Thread: Jatta banned and fined

  1. #11
I suspect lots of League Two clubs will try and replicate AJ's red mist next season, if he's still with us.

He needs to learn from this, because him missing that second leg was totally avoidable.

Agree, Wimbledon did a job on us, good luck to them.

He wasn?t red carded though because the ref was conned. It was imo because he went in two footed and the aggression. I think he would have gone whatever the Wimbledon player did. Needs work on his self-control. That said, action should be taken against the defender. The referee also needs questioning as to why he didn?t give a foul in favour of Jatta.

Do you think he was showing frustration at the players action, his own form, or a more fundamental frustration with how things were going at the club (maybe SM?).

I don't agree with that. The replays I've seen seem to show no actual contact was made, although in real time it didn't look good so it was tricky for the ref. I just can't believe that the Wimbledon cheat pretending to be severely injured and their players surrounding the ref pleading for a red had no bearing on his decision.

Jatta gets a long ban, but the cheat will be free to play in a Wembley final. For that reason alone, I hope Walsall beat them, and it would be even better if they did it through an equally bad decision from the officials.

Exactly this, when he gets to the ball, he's one footed, in the ground and makes no contact. It should be an immediate 2 game suspension for the Wimbledon player

But Alassana might need a reset. It's no good going from 'happy to play my football' most of the time to livid and furious and when things get too much. He needs to know that most of the L2 opposition are scheming, cheating thugs and play with controlled aggression wanting to hurt them from the 1st minute to the 90th.
I think the frustration we saw in that moment had been building up for weeks in Maynard's poor system which left him isolated and starved of service, hunting for scraps. The moment itself was just the trigger, not the cause.
