Got Wimbledon promoted to League One.

Maynard was unlucky in the sense that, owing to an error of judgement, he was given a job way beyond his capabilities.

The buck always stops at the top, so any fault is down to the brothers*, and then Monatgue, in that order.

*Yes, they saved us, yes, I am grateful.

The buck always stops at the top, their decisions ultimately have more impact than anybody else at the club.

As does the warranted praise that should also ultimately go in the direction of the brothers

He had the tools for the job, but he just didnt know how to use them. It wasnt the Bros fault for playing our most talented players at wingback, It wasnt their fault for turning in unacceptable performances against the likes of Barrow, Cheltenham and all of the other below par games...It wasnt the Bros fault for making substitution's too late in games to have any effect... All of this is down to one man, who should have been sacked last season.

I think Notts this season are a good example of; "when it's no one's fault, it's everyone's fault"

Maynard would always take the fall, but it was bigger than him.

Tbf they?ve recruited for 352 for at least 4 or 5 years, that said I don?t know if that?s what all 3 managers asked for?

Who?s played consistently at wb this season who?s talented? It?s probably been 75-80% Tarsoulla, Gordon and Austin. Accept Jarvis shouldn?t be a wb but he was never going to get up to speed straight away anyway.

352 only works properly if you have really good wbs and at this level and probably any level their extremely difficult to find, never mind 4 of them to cover both positions.

I don?t think he was right man but ultimately too many players appear to be standard L2 players.

Was it his fault entirely? No is my answer. He didn't help himself though. Towards the end it felt like he was trying to kid the fans. Constantly talking about how we 'dominated for 90 minutes' after a defeat became tedious. You could argue he was let down in January, but I personally think the squad he had was good enough to get out of a poor league. It's going to be very interesting to see where, and what level he ends up in next.

The owners left him pissing in the wind from January onwards starting with Crowley and ending with his coaching team leaving but he still had enough at his disposal in terms of players to get us over the line.

My honest opinion is he shouldn't have been given the chance if I'm honest - the writing was on the wall from January - May last season. Nothing changed massively and but for several McGoldrick / Abbott specials I don't think he'd have seen the season out.

Agree with the previous post about mindset / character. The BT engineer jibes were cheap and largely unnecessary because of the plethora of other reasons we'd seen week in and week out but let's be real - if Mansfield were in League Two and had appointed a part-time manager who installed smart meters for Eon or worked on the gas for Cadent we'd be filling our boots.

Like others have said the reality is it means he's an incredibly hard working man but footballers are shallow, vain boys / men and they absolutely will have had their heckles up once they heard that and he would have been up against it from the get go.

Wilshere has the playing experience but has always seemed too petulant and ratty to command a dressing room. He'll get some grace if he's appointed because of what he achieved before his injuries took their toll but they need an actual leader in there.

If it's Alves then the brothers have just Trojan Horsed their own man in there and I would be incredibly wary of how that would pan out.
