Just a gentle reminder that the Profitability & Sustainability (PSR) regulations are determining the extent of our spending this June 2025 due to English footballs top 2 division permitted losses over a 3 year period which I often harp on about.
Before some start jumping at the bit we must consider Leeds most recent set of accounts outlined prior on here which saw us report a 60.8m pound loss, whilst the 2022/23 campaign saw Leeds lose 33.7m pound loss & the season before that we made a 36.7m pound loss.
Cumulatively our 'losses over that 3 year period' exceed the maximum PSR threshold. However, due to tax deductible 'allowable expenses' such as infrastructure costs, academy costs, the running of the clubs Womens team & our various community schemes, Leeds will not face any PSR sanctions, ok.
That said, with all those expenses taken into account the club are up to their necks now in terms of where the red PSR line is for that 3 year period between July 1st 2021 & June 30, 2024.
Gotta remember that PL sides who have spent the entire 3 year accounting period in 'the top flight' are allowed losses of up to 105m pounds but in our case having spent 2 years in the Championship the relevant accounting period which ended June 30, 2024 means our maximum loss allowance was 83m pounds !
So, if Leeds were to sign a player for 30m pounds BEFORE July 1, 2025, that fee would most likely be reflected in our clubs 2024/25 accounts.🙁
As we made an approximate 61m pound loss for the 2023/24 season being the first of 2 years spent in the Championship - a similar loss is expected to be reported next spring for the 2024/25 campaign.
So it would NOT make sense from an 'accounting-perspective' to report such an investment before this years June 30 cut-off transfer wise.👍
Finally, you all will recall Leeds first signing of the 2024/25 season was Rodon, announced on 2nd July last summer, largely due to the above financial reasoning.
A year earlier, Leeds first senior addition of the summer window was Ampadu on 19th July.
Not dragging heels as such again but diligence shown regarding 'dates' when deals are actually signed - 'tho of course deals maybe have been agreed in principle just not publicly announced yet obviously, Sniffer.
Just saying
X2
Always thought the neon boots crazy. I always encouraged the strikers and mids I was playing against to wear them. The brighter the better. Easier to track the ball on their feet. When I was playing keep it was wonderful. On restarts and corners much easier to track the opponents dangerous offensive threats without taking eye off the ball. Especially the bright pink and neon green ones. You can see those in your peripheral vision without ever taking eye off the ball.
I did notice that the big brawny defenders tended to go the basic black boot route.
Pretty balls too now Spaldy in neon pink !
Puma is the new official supplier of the Premier League match ball after Nike's contract ended in 2025.
The 2025-26 ball - named Orbita Ultimate PL - was revealed on 3rd June.
It has 12 panels - which will evenly distribute weight and keep the ball balanced - plus long-lasting durability and deeper seams to improve aerodynamics and shape retention.
On average a professional footballer has control of the ball for around 109 seconds every game so when you have the ball at your feet you need to make it count & create moments that make a difference on the pitch, state Puma marketing directive.
Neon balls, ooh matron. 😆😆
Between 2024 and 2025 Leeds it was reported were in the top 3 for net PsR profit on player sales. That would include Sinnisterra, Rutter, Gray and Summerville amongst others.
The club made the announcement of creating new shares in the amount of 120m all of which have been paid up. Commercially with the sponsorship, kit deals, match day revenues and merchandise sales we can match some prem teams let alone the EFL.
Firpo is all but gone, Joffy, Greenwood and Gyabi are clearly going, JG has gone, Rothwell and Solomon have returned. Byram even if he stays is not a regular starter.
The club has made much about preparing and planning for a return and so surely must have lined up targets.
As has been said above even a ?deluge? of one player such as Solomon who by all counts wants to come to us would be a positive sign and if we need to sell anyone to sign him the we are in a whole heap of trouble. The first short window is half way through yet the board appear to be still focusing on Glasgow.
June will soon become July with August not far behind and then the league begins - the clock is ticking away. See Rangers have signed a new manager so there is activity just not this side of the border.

Each of us regardless of our background or current circumstances has the capacity for change & growth & recognising our habits, especially those that may be holding us back is a crucial first step towards betterment.
So, likewise in goalkeepers as one has gotta ask themselves which habits are serving you & which ones might be limiting your potential ?
I noticed at a local event where I live that my 'bro does every year that all the kids want to grow up to be outfield players & few sadly wanna be keepers - so goalkeepers in my eyes are undervalued & easy prey to criticise which is a toughie on the aspiring keepers of tomorrow.
There will be a few young goalkeepers & footballers out there now 'reflecting' before making decisions particularly if Leeds want to speak to them, for sure, as plenty to consider & digest.
