Paid for 2 season tickets in full. Don't know anything about any extra charges. Was told when I got tickets last week for the Sheff U friendly they'll be ready to collect in the club shop tomorrow 25th July.

Any idea if the extra ?1.50 we paid was for postage?
    I paid:
    Ticket Price: ?1.50
    Ticket Price: ?1.50
    Ticket Price: ?1.50
Name: Season Card - Postage Amount: ?2.00
    Order Total: ?6.50

That was using the link emailed (third attempt they made). This was just before their (sort of) apology where they made some nonsense claim about speeding up the entry process and things got blurry around whether charges would be applied to those who still hadn't opted one way or t'other.

Assume I'm in line to have them posted, if you didn't pay more than ?1.50 then I'd guess you're collecting.

Standard emails were sent to (apparently) everyone who bought tickets asking them to decide if they wanted physical or digital tickets. At that point, the default was meant to be digital. There was a fair bit of noise on the forum when emails were issued because the link didn't work.

Checked Millers shop website this morning no mention of picking season tickets up.
Brother-in-law bought tickets by phone for the Blades friendly, buying concession for himself & 3 kids tickets for grand kids.
They sent him a QR code which he has no idea about, so went to R.U. shop before the game, where they printed tickets off for him, the staff said about of people had done this.
Wonder if they are going to send a QR code or printable ticket for the Port Vale game if the physical cards are not ready.

When I tried to buy tickets online for the Sheffield United game there was no option to pick up printed tickets or have them posted, it was digital only so I went to the ticket office, and even then they asked me if I wanted a printed ticket or not.

Looks like they're really pushing us to use the digital ones, people might be more open to using them if they could have any confidence that they'd actually work.

Like you say MasbroughMiller the digital system is not for everyone with the phone.
I have been in queues in the supermarket, people paying their bill using the mobile phone, they had problems,
so been been in the queue for over 10 minutes, after putting our items on the conveyor belt.
Problem is people don't carry cash or use a card, so when the mobile banking lets them down, they are stuck.
I don't use my mobile phone for payments, use my card[s], but still carry cash, in case my card[s] fail.
Took note a lot of people match days pay for the drinks with the mobile phone.

They also need to consider that not everyone has a mobile with them (no obligation to own a mobile), children will need an alternative (mine don't carry mobiles so the card is an easy thing to manage, not so much with separate digital tickets), and having witnessed (generally older people, but not to stereotype) folk at airports recently trying to stop auto-rotate and the queues that creates, I think the fool's gold of a digital ticket needs to be thought about.

Just reading that q and a on the Millers website and I'm relieved I opted for a physical one.
What could possibly go wrong with the digital version? Lots
    I predict a riot

The digital tickets were introduced last season, i had one.
There were teething problems for the first few games but we seem to get that with all kinds of ticket at nys. If i remember rightly the biggest issue was cup games where we had a paper ticket which wouldnt scan so they told us to queue at ticket office for a reprint which, you’ve guessed it, wouldnt scan. They had to let us in at the last minute on a visual ticket check. I suspect the system was rejecting the paper tickets as the computer knew we were digital customers.
Those hiccups aside there were no issues but i have opted for a physical card this year so i dont have to worry about my phone being out if charge.
Also for anyone who might miss a few games due to holidays you cant lend a digital ticket to a mate.

This is likely one of the reasons why they want people to move to digital, no sharing your season ticket.
there will be plenty that miss games due to other reasons than going on holiday, e.g. those that dont attend night games, work, illness. Especially when games move around for sky and/or policing, having a physical card means you can pass it on to family or friends so its not wasted. Albeit you have to find someone willing to go in your place!
