I think some fans on here dont want him to work it out if Im being honest. Excessive criticism, no patience and writing him off before he even managed a game.

It hasnt been perfect but it feels like it is moving in the right direction in recent games.

I would much rather have a new coach that is finding his feet and learning than an old dog like Mowbray who was too stubborn to change.

Come on Matt - its a debate of differing opinions. I respect all views of those in favor of Mason but have my own views as do lots of others. That said, I go to a lot of away games where even at these games there are those who are patient and those that don’t like Mason. That?s life.

Are you saying many who go to away games and spend a lot of money ( clearly they love West Brom ) dont want Mason to work out as you have put it! That would be a crazy statement as its easier to sit on a sofa saying such stuff spending zilch.

I have seen enough of Mason and personally can not see too much changing. I sincerely hope I’m completely wrong. Should I post my Hull City tickets back to the club because of my views on Mason which mirror other supporters who will be at Hull too when we love the club?

Like everything in life a person/s are judged by the majority and when the majority rightly or wrongly stamp their feet change can be demanded. Many are frustrated and no doubt you have seen the empty seats.

I sincerely hope to be wrong on Mason as not going to Hull just for the lovely steak pies!

Does irritate me how a fantastic kid like Bostock can’t get a look in when he’s better than Wallace and Junior who will both be gone come June! No wonder we lose so much young talent!

Honestly Al, you must have a bit of a crush on young Bostock because he gets a lot of mentions from you for a bloke thats had 5 minutes of mens football.

Not sure why you talk about the majority. The majority voted for this labour government which proves the majority can talk a load of b*llocks.

Give Mason time. Unless it goes perilous, until the end of the season at least. Its daft to keep sacking managers and doesnt give us stability. Plenty of good managers have been stuck with through bad times and come out doing well.

A well reasoned response Matt. I have seen Bostock a couple of times and he was excellent and in the minutes he’s been given looked composed and good with his feet. If Wallace and Junior were decent I get the lack of trying him. But the fact is both are poor. That’s the point.

Personally I would take a rain check on Mason at the end of January. I hope to hope he comes good but can’t see it with the constant tinkering, Just my view of course.

Just an observation regarding your comment about the majority’; the majority didn’t vote for the Labour Party, they had a large majority of votes over the other parties but with a slightly lower percentage of the vote than they had in the previous election.

I can readily see many of the points made by Al and bomber and, even on the Swansea game I disagree with those who said it was Mason's "inspired" 4 changes that turned the game around. No, it was more the case that he should have started Campbell, Maja and Grant in the first place. This may not have prevented at least one of those early goals we conceded but I'm sure the rest of the first half would not have been so lacklustre.

Even so, I am in the retain camp at this time. Why? Aside from the moot question of who we would get in who could do much better, despite his early reluctance to change things, the last few games have shown better performances with less tippy tappy stuff and more intent. It did feel that we deserved more from games but both conceding goals late on and a lack of quality in our finishing cost us points. We now seem to have started to rectify the latter at least. A swallow may not a summer make but there are signs that Mason is learning and that we may be starting to turn the corner.

The Championship is a tough league and our squad is a thin one which we don't have the finances yet to improve upon so I think we need to give him more time. Certainly, I believe that, whilst not great, we still have enough quality in the squad to be higher up the table than we are but this will come. If we get into the play offs then great but I'd be ok with ending up just outside of them and for a continued rebuild next season once the present wage bill has gone down again.

The reaction of Molumby and the rest of the team when he scored the winner was also a very clear indication that Mason has not lost the dressing room and a visible show of support by the players for Mason and the coaching staff. That, surely, cannot be ignored.

I'm sure it won't be all plain sailing from here on in, and some mistakes will be bound to happen still, but if they can put in far more battling performances like they did against Swansea in the second half then I'll be quite happy for Mason to stay.
