Whilst the summer is likely to be another revolving door, to me, the critical matter to be resolved is responsibility for recruitment.

In fairness, ALK has backed both VK and SP with funds. Questions have to be asked about how those funds have been spent.

This has to be looked at before the summer. Otherwise I fear that yet more money will be spent on barely Championship quality players.

Manager and set piece coach recruitment has been a massive problem not just players. The entire club recruitment has been a complete failure.

The recruitment is a complete mess as once again this season as proven.

What were they thinking of paying 14 million euros for the likes of Tchaouna ? When our sights should have been on recruiting a CH who is strong and dominant in the air, everything that Esteve isn't and wasn't in the championship. I said last summer that I was concerned that Esteve was weak in the air and I have been proven right

Bang on the money BC.We hyped him up to something that he is not.Good tackler but useless in the air and never makes any forward runs to bring the ball up the pitch.Dara O Shea was the opposite good with his head but suspect to dropping clangers with his feet.

I agree CiB. Looking at thread, and various comments, it is clear that the concensus is that the players are not up to standard and that questions have to be asked from top to bottom, starting with the manager.

It seems to me that there is no idea about what the squad actually needs. Last summer so many commented on the need for a good striker. We ended up with Broja, a failure before and, let’s be frank, a failure for us. We brought in players for positions that we already had cover for and we’re not a priority on a limited budget. Why on God’s earth did we bring TBL back?

Before we slag Esteve off what I will
Say in his defence is he?s a young man who is learning as he goes in the best league in the world / I think as Ballcock says we should have bought a established centre back with premier league attributes to help him

Also in his defence there is little to no
Protection in front of him / the midfield plays practically on top of them and offers very little help or release of pressure.

His heading is an issue being honest - i still think he ha s the makings and attributes to be successful at this level of football.

We aren't slagging anyone off or going on a witch hunt. I was just saying what I see and that he is weak in the air attacking and defending.
I honestly think we would have got more from O'Shea than him this season as he would have weighed in with the odd set piece goal, something that Esteve isn't capable of doing, and lets face it the defence couldn't be much worse.
The defence as been a shambles and Walker as been embarrassing at times, he now looks like his Premier league days or long gone
