Watched just over an hour of the NI game. Thought a largely poor in comparison to their former selves' Italy were the better side on the night despite NI's endeavour. Isaac Price didn't have the bets of games in fairness but I do like the look of Trai Hume and Shea Charles. Pity they're both beyond our reach currently. Oh well, there's always the ends of their careers when we can expect to top up their pensions I suppose .

Well done Sweden. Another round to go.
To be fair if anything playing at home penalties can be harder due to the crowd and expectation. Awful way to go out but foreign players do seem to have a better technique with penalties - look at Bruno for Man Utd for example who very rarely misses.

Shame though as I wanted all the Home Nations there. I wonder who will replace Iran?

Cheers OB (and others), but, as you say, another round to go.

We played better than we have for ages though, yesterday.

Not down to luck. Controlling nerves, attitude and will to win are a skill as v ital in the 120 minutes preceding minutes as they are in the shootouts. Germany lost the first ever penalty shoot out in a major final and have won everyone of their 6 since. That can't be luck.

I think their club sides record in European football is around 90% success rate. That can't be luck.

Mick says f uck the other Home Countries as they hate us and would want us to lose. Mick has a second property in Wales and they would even cheer Iran over England. I lived in Edinburgh for a few years and the Scottish detest anything about English football.

Mick has a point. I am more pleased Sweden qualified than Wales to be honest! My reaction to Scotland in the USA will be the same reaction from them regarding England!
