Here’s another idea. See if the said quality is already there and how individuals we’ve got at the club and brought in are performing in competitive games before blowing most of the budget. And then there’s injuries. If we’d got the wherewithal to bring in a half decent replacement for Coutts last January we may have reached the play-offs of better.

Anyway we’ll soon see which way Chris rolls, but my guess is if we sign Waghorn we’ll not bring in any more big money signings until January. Personally I think we could do with more quality at LWB but if Chris thinks the same after the first few games, he’ll look at the loan market.

I don't mind either way about whether we do or not once Waghorn is over the line. I think we've got quality and resilience everywhere now. Excellent transfer window.

As for Coutts, we'd lost a dozen points by January after his injury, which suggests I might possibly be right* about front loading the squad now while we have the chance.

we will have put some aside for january anything can happen with injuries and i also think even if we sign waghorn another loan striker could well come in before end of august the young lad from city being mentioned on s2 think its khatcha or somat like that
