Not just tourism, but also migrant workers legally coming here to pick the harvest and other such cheap labour jobs.

Totally agree. However I wondered how the 1915 Spanish Flu was able to spread so quick around the world when there was much less travel (although I dont know the time lines - it might have been a slower process then). This virus got round the world in a matter of months.

This virus seems to thrive on things like cruise ships.

Imagine how Spanish Flu spread on ships transporting troops around the globe during WW1. There was plenty of 'travel' going on.

BTW travel didn't start this virus. The Chinese did.

Why focus it on migrant workets coming here? There are also British 'workers' travelling the globe just as likely to bring it in.

Because they put them in "holiday" caravans up to 7 in the same van, with shared toilets and showers.

There was also the World Military Games held in Wuhan, October 2019. If the virus was around then that could be a cause of the spread.
