We told the jambos we were pleased to see Neilson go, the only thing we were annoyed about was the manner in which he jumped ship. He's still a below average manager, and I'll be surprised if he's still their manager next season. Hearts poached him, so Budge has a lot to answer to the FoH.
If he was still our manager, we would have been relegated by now.

You might be right re relegation Orjan.
At best he would have had us in the mire.
    Thankyou Ann Budge.
    And thankyou Micky Mellon.

Quite correct re. The Bride. It was her colossal series of phuck ups that inevitably led to the Jambo’s downfall and she cynically used the Covid promotion/relegation/legal case as a blatant attempt to divert the long suffering Jambo’s attention from how/why they had ended up where they were in the first place by trying to make out she was ‘fighting their cause’. There’s no hiding place now - she, and she alone, made the current pig sty by poaching RN. Now she’s got to lie in it.

And they guys are REALLY gonna put in a supirdoopir shift for him now tae What an idiot. As a manager, you may think that, you may know that , but FFS , when your job might be in trouble NEVER EVER say it, even if it is done with suggestion.

In saying that, he does seem to have the knack of getting teams to the top of that league, albeit, having to endure horrendous futba.

The first good few pages of this thread are worth a wee read back, some posters are spot on with their comments. general opinion ........... We wernae that bathered he was going...... spesh we compi

And yir spot on about the fans sheddirz he would be getting pelterz if that place was full.

Yep, Terry Butcher at Hibs and Mixu with ourselves would testify to that.

Can anyone post up the list of players signed by Neilson? I remember Sow and Pawlett, Shankland was an Asghar signing I think.

I think Sow and Pawlett were among the 11 players signed in the January window that season, weren't they? Along with the likes of Aidan Nesbitt, Jimmy Gomis, Connolly, Reynolds. I think Butcher and Harkes were signed in that window too. I think technically Cammy Smith was also one of his signings.

He didn’t just sign big Osman but he kept playing him when it wasn’t working out.

Mind you pep McPoke rates him too so there must be a player there

I agree RN did well in getting us to top of league. Fwiw I think he is a decent man manager and in motivating- where he falls down is the boring style of play and doesn’t seem to be able to provide any decent creativity.

We were lucky with Micky Mellon coming in so close to start of season and keeping us up with room to spare

Cheers mate. Some diamonds some duds like many managers.

Excluding LS who I think Asghar was instrumental in getting over the line I see only 5 decent signings out of 17 on that list. Plus definite he never scouted Harkes (not in my 5 btw) Powers or Sporle (both in my 5)
