He certainly had a great 45 mins.
But all that good play came from the nominal 'wing-back' position. Just wait for the outcry if one cross finds its way into our box from that side...it'll be 'get a full back in' just as there were cries for Turner to come on yesterday.
I love IB's moves towards a really progressive, attacking philosophy. I wish more fans would get that there's a trade off that's going to bring you more than you will lose over the long run. We're looking to dominate games from the back going forward and we don't need 3 'Big Centre-Halves' plus 2 recognised full-backs...

Doesn't look like IB's going to switch back to a back 4, so if you want Enzio's wing-play (rather than his cutting in from the left and inside-forward roles) it's going to have to be as a wing-back. Great for me, but just wait until 1 cross goes in (that would probably have gone in anyway!)

Yeah I've read your thoughts about the personnel in a back 5 with interest recently. I have to say it's not something I'd thought about much and I'm coming round to your way of thinking.

I think he likes DKE on the right, but with Bromley for the most part playing so deep yesterday, it made sense to bring Enzio on. In matches where more defending is required, I think he'll stick with DKE.

Guess so, the smart coach will keep all options open.
But.....IB said we wasn't so happy with our first-half which we lost 0-1 (with DKE at RWB )
and was happier with the second half, which we won 2-1 (with Enzio at RWB )...

So you could argue, with this being a home game which we needed to win, he should've been that bit braver and started with Enzio...

Even I'm picking DKE to start at Wrexham though (not such a handicap when you have Miller on the other side)

Same with Ruben - when asked to explain his run of form he said he's playing in his preferred position and enjoying his football.

Sometimes, especially when you've got good players, it really is that simple. I've no doubt we'll see the best of Sam in the near future.
The match he played up front with Wootton shows he could work in a front two, or as an impact sub, and I think IB will get the best out of him, like you say happy days coyp

Yeah good points. Maybe he thought Bromley would offer more than they did, so having made a brave decision regarding the centre of defence he played safe with the RWB position. When he saw they were only really playing on the counter, he changed it.

I think the dilemma is that if you put Enzio as wing back against a team that forces you to defend, unless you can turn the tables on them with the extra attacking prowess, you will end up with Enzio in the right back position not being able to attack and not a competent defender, so a lose/lose situation. It is something that is probably best judged match by match.

That would have played into it for sure.
I'd guess he'll be having a tinge of regret in his post-match thinking though, 'fortune favours the brave' and all that. Especially with a pretty defensive midfield 3 on the pitch as well as a back 5...
Anyway, no point in being a hindsight warrior now : ) I think we all really enjoyed the game and are just happy to be right in the mix right now

That's a sort of warrior we don't need.

Didn't see the game but interested to hear how Reeves played? Average? The usual?
