Butcher been getting a lot of bad press from the fans recently which I think has been very unfair, last night he was outstanding and more than deserved MOM. He is far from finished at United.

Also, on my way home, I listened to Sportsounds match report and was astounded to hear Ross County had dominated the game, No idea who gave the match report but I must have been watching another match.

Butcher deserves the plaudits for having a good game last night but he played at CH and not a CM where he gives us practically fk all.

It was a game of 45 minutes each imo. We had the first 30 minutes and the last 15 while they had the bit in the middle.

Butcher had a couple of really good games at centre half in the Championship when called on, seem to remember one the games against one the hammer throwers ross county or Inverness when he was winning everything in the air they threw at us, and of course when he stepped back when Connolly got injured in the 6-2, so I'm quite happy to have him as back up. Slightly confused however that he didn't manage to get booked last night.

Another thing about last night. Great to finally get a penalty and a phucking decision finally go our way but if that was a penalty last night then why on earth was the one against St Mirren not given as truth be told that was even worse. May not seem much but get the penalty last week (as we should have) and score it and we go on to win that match, no question.

If that's true (and I've no reason to doubt you) then I think we should let him go to any team who'll take him off our hands, even if there is no fee involved. Just get him off the wage bill and let one of our talented young players have a go. Or sign someone who will give 100%.

Either way, he shouldn't be anywhere near our first team - that bit is easy. Can't understand why any manager would persist in playing someone who so obviously isn't interested. Or is there something in his contract that says he has to play if he's fit?

He really shouldn't be near the first team. He's been off it for weeks and is half the player he was. It's a shame, because he was superb initially.

It's a real shame because he could have left as something of a hero, but more likely our memories of him will be slightly soured by his disinterest.
