You have a point there. QPR are a club with higher aspirations than us and his style was never going to be accepted there. Why is he so disliked by people on here? Mainly because his Wycombe team were horrible to play against and horrible to watch. Maybe we need a bit of that, particularly away from home. In away games we're horrible to watch for the opposite reason, because we're so easy to play against.

Yes I can’t see any of those 3 agreeing to come to the nys. Apparently Rowett wants some time off having lived away from his family for a long time.

I understand what you’re saying regarding Ainsworth but really?
QPR have 4/5 players who are infinitely better than any we,ve got and yet he couldn’t get them playing at all. They are below us in the table. He doesn’t seem to be able to cut it at cship level

Paul Davies saying on X that we've made a move for Steve Evans. Is this real? Surely not!

He hasn't said we've made a move for him. Just that he's a name they're giving serious consideration to.

A backward step in my opinion.

I did see him move fast the other day and his trousers stayed where they were meant to. They were step forwards

It was on Talk Sport a couple of weeks ago that he’s apparently gone for loads of interviews at all levels and been close to getting the managers job a few times.
Apparently, he was on his way up the M1, but had to turn back when he realised he didn't fit Cam's chant criteria.
And Johnny Terry just didn't sound right.

I've thought the same for a while.
As far as I'm aware there is no-one on the board or amongst the decision makers that has what you would describe as "football knowledge" and this always seems more apparent when we are in the Championship.
Surely we need someone like a Director of Football who would be the principal driving force behind all matters in that area.
However if the rumours that TS runs the club in a very autocratic manner are true it's unlikely to happen as it would present a challenge to his authority.

You're right, he's had his failings at Championship level. That being said, I don't know why he failed at QPR. Did he lose the dressing room? Did he sign any players in the summer to play the way he wanted? I've got no idea.

I guess the point is, there'll be managers out there who won't want a relegation on their CVs and therefore won't touch us with a barge-poll. For me, Ainsworth (and you can include Leam Richardson in this) is still an aspiring manager with a point to prove. He'll do well again somewhere.

Talking of which, I read earlier that Oxford are interested in his services.
