Feck me I can remember when it was BFC, we owned the ground and didn’t have a pot to pyss in.

Apart from not owning our ground has owt changed?
For the purposes of ownership Eths you can count A and B shares as the same , that is Crynes own 20% of club.

There are some technical differences between A and B shares known to Accountants, and some voting differences I understand, but basically they count the same when it comes to % ownership.

Transfer window closes tomorrow ( Thursday) Feb 1st at 11-00pm

Seems like the signing of lower league, “Potential but just not done it yet” seems to continuing. The Barnsley way continues….. I will be pleasingly surprised if we sign anyone with great experience tomorrow.

I’m so glad we are doing our business early in the window this time……..PMSL
As usual waiting until the last minute to get players on the cheap who no beggar else wants!
Let’s not forget tomorrow’s late statements that are always written at the start of the window:
    1. “We desperately tried to get another 1 or 2 over the line but for various reasons they didn’t come off”
    2. “We had no intention of selling Devante and Herbie but the offers were just too good to turn down”
    3. “We just had no time to replace them”
    4. “We have plenty of depth to cover them, it gives others the chance to step up”

Pleased to see there is some speculation about incoming players, not that the candidates are exciting me very much.
    However….

Earl provides much needed defensive options.

Byers would bolster midfield options but does that mean either of our first choice centre mids leaving?? We could we’ll do without that outcome.

We will know the outcome later today but that’s providing we submit the paperwork on time 😂😂

To be fair with Styles potentially moving on you only had to watch last saturdays shambles when Kane was missing to see how poor the midfield performed , McCatee is a very good player & is wasted in the midfield , a player of Byers quality would have been ideal & going forward a midfield of Kane, Connell & Byers would be more than useful .

Can't see Byers coming here personally , wages will be the issue I reckon .

Possibly wages could be a stumbling block but a lengthy contract with promotion bonus/increased wages might be enough , I suppose it depends on what other offers he might get & how keen he is on a move , at least you would think a move to another local side would save him a load of hassle with not having to move areas etc , we will see .

2 days left to go then (window shuts at 11PM tomorrow) how many do we think will come through the door and who?

Latest rumours of the last few days includes Josh Earl, Matt Bondswell and George Byers. I can see Earl and maybe Bondswell but not sure on Byers. I think he will have plenty of options. We also like to pluck a random name out that hasn’t been linked anywhere so that could happen too. I reckon Earl, Bondswell and then a random central midfielder that’s not been linked recently.

Anyone with that magic word "free" attached to them will have the clubs antenna twitching.

Think there may be less freebies on offer right now, unless of course we turn to the US of A again. As you mentioned with Byers above, it’ll probably be more likely nominal fees with players out of contract at the end this season.
