“We nevertheless maintained a good relationship and rejected several substantial bids this month and last summer, with us prepared to retain Dan’s services up until the conclusion of his contract should our high valuation of him not be met in this transfer window.
"This latest offer, however, was acceptable to us and, with Dan informing us that he wanted the move to happen, we have sanctioned it.
I really like the bolded bit
By our owners? standards? that?s a pretty scathing goodbye message isn?t it? They?ve given short term loanees more love than that.
Probably shows how the relationship had broken down, clear from his MKD press release he has want away to there for a good while. Only thing with our press release it says
"While Dan has certainly been an influential figure for us, following the exciting additions of Will Jarvis and Charlie Whitaker, as well as the return to fitness of Conor Grant and Curtis Edwards, we have many strong options in his area of the pitch and we?re very confident the squad can mount a strong challenge for promotion without him."
No mention of further targets with funds we have got from the sale
When does the change in what clubs in L1 & L2 can invest where come into force, will that affect what we can do in the closed season? If so that may increase the need to strengthen in ths window

Personally, I thank him for what he has done for Notts. I understand he was earning a around 3k per week at Notts, if he was offered say 4 or 5k a week to play for MK Dons, then its a no brainer for him. Good luck lad, just don’t have a blinder when you play us.
Very good post... absolutely gutted that he chose a vile non entity of a club like Mk Dons but in the post it says he wanted to go so obviously something on his brain...more than likely money but hey who knows, can't see him getting a good reception when he returns with that plastic club but hey thanks for your time Dan.
Well it's very clear that MK Dons have seen that this League is crap and they're really going for promotion this season. If they don't go up I suspect their manager will be looking for a new job come the summer.
Gutted he?s gone but if he wanted away that much then reluctantly I think it?s the right move.
Here?s hoping we pip MK to the automatics and we can thank Dan Crowleys superb performance against MKD for keeping them down.
