This bit is reassuringly vague.
How will the "Football Operation" hold the club's bank account signatories to account?
In fact, who is/are the "Football Operation"?
And how do the AberDNA Members hold the club to account, without seeing a detailed accounting of the monies raised and spent?
Yes, we can "rest assured", which is good to know.
I signed up to DNA hoping it would help us get a leg up in the transfer market.
For example I hoped it would lead to us affording a couple K more per week to land some of the better free transfer players eg Mulumbu or McGeouch.
Time to judge is September 1st but so far it looks like the squad is far less equiped than last season.
However I am hopeful McInnes is keeping his cards close to his chest and will bring in 4-5 senior players yet (2-3 loanees).
I am almost positive he won't go into the season with his current right footed defender options or his current winger options. He has stated himself he wants a forward. That's three obvious signings straight away.
I wouldn't even be surprised if we signed as much as 6 more if he manages to move a couple players on or out on loan.
We may find the argument from the clubs perspective will go along the lines of;
Last year we had a net spend of zero given that the only money we spent was the Hayes transfer fee.
This year we’ve (so far) spent £200k on Chris Forrester & (probably) towards £170k on Lewis Ferguson.
We allegedly offered £250k for Marquis.
This on the back of no oncoming transfer fees.
That roughly is what’s been raised from AberDNA.
However, we must have space for a few signings on the wage bill with 10 players left & 3 or 4 in.
the marquis offer will probably be somewhere between the £500k speculation and the half of that DM mentioned. DM will rightly be playing it down.
we also bid for naismith so there is money sloshing around yet.
hopefully DM will be proven right with his waiting game tactic. although it doesnt look great at the moment
There must have been some serious rubber bed sheet sales in the Aberdeen area today!
Hope the national grid can handle all the extra washing machine cycles tonight.
Read into that what you want, it would be easy to believe but for one reason, is the DNA money being used to replace the transfer/wages/signing on fees from future transfer budgets, and moneies from future transfer budgets being held back to pay for new stadium/training facilities.
Its so easy to put a spin on things and it would be better if the club were more transparent to the folk who have signed away there money every month.
