Don't you hate it when you get chewing stuck to the bottom of your shoe?

Was he lazy last night Elite? The reason I ask is he certainly wasn't in the previous two games, worked hard to win the ball back and track backed often even when comfortably winning.

It appears Ruben's performances have dropped off since the new year and all that interest in him from higher placed clubs, coincidence? Perhaps not. Although nobody should have expected to remain 'on fire' as he was early doors this season, he's had a fine productive season to date. Am I in a position to accurately and fairly judge RR's contribution with the total numbers of games I have been to this season? I am not sure but can judge on what I have seen. (Some) others are far better placed.

Elite, although factually correct, it was said very much tongue in cheek. Forget more active, it amuses me that they are dormant and don't post at all when we win but suddenly wake up and a full of beans when we lose.

In answer to your question, yes I believe at least one or two others are, or it at least amuses them too. Ironically that question has been asked of you many many times before by more than one person, but you don't need telling that do you?

That reminds me must go do a bit of ironing today.

I don't know, I wasn't there. I've never seen him as lazy, but I've often seen him as ineffective.

For someone who was only joking, you seem to mention it an awful lot! We know it happens without you telling us.

Good we agree, he is far from lazy. Not that Kelton can't have that opinion of course, we can agree to disagree.

Ruben has been more effective and productive away from home this season (well that's what the stats tell us), and with you telling us you are yet to see an away game in person this season then can I suggest you also don't have the most balanced of views on RR having only seen him at Meadow Lane?

You are right I do because I find it 'a joke'. Once I stop finding it amusing I will stop mentioning it and highlighting these 'special kind of fans'*.

Oh and did you spot the irony of your question? I do hope so

    * - and before you mention it again, yes I am sure every club has them. They are special lol.

Maybe Roberts is on his way to Chesterfield judging by the conversations he was having at the end with the chessie players.
Burchnall is becoming telegraphic with his Subs, Its always the same two players in Vincent and Sam who come off. There were far worse players on the pitch other than those two who could and should have come off..

Well we can kiss goodbye to any hopes of finishing 1st, We will be lucky to get into the play offs ...
THIS, AGREE WITH EVERY THINK Durham has to say. Many criticised me when I kept calling for Sam to be given his chance. He has now become our best performing player, which likely means I. B will drop him out the team like he did Vincent, who's confidence looks shot now. Thought IB was a good coach?

I strongly suspect durham was one of the many who criticised you when you wanted Sam to be given a chance, he did after all want Eli Sam#culthero out of the club and described him as "rubbish" and "awful". I suspect IB will only drop him if he is injured now he's performing well and scoring goals#radarlove

If you had bothered to read my earlier post, you would have seen that there were many posters who had also criticised Sam. At that time some of his cameo appearances were embarrassing to say the least. However, i have since been full of praise for him or have you not bothered to read that as well.
I really dont know how you can pass comment or criticise others when you very rarely attend matches.

Sam isn’t fit enough to get through a full game. Came off with a tight hamstring in a previous game and last night he apparently asked to come off.
I suppose a good coach would tell him to get on with it and then when he pulls his hamstring properly, and is out for several weeks we can then blame IB for not listening.
Sam was good going forward but boy did he look **** defending last night. Several times the right back cut in and drove at Notts, committing other players in the process and exposing us.
It’s funny how some will happily blame the soft central midfield areas but won’t call out the lack of defending ability by our so called better players. All of Wootton, Roberts, Ruben and Sam can’t defend for toffee. They can’t even stay goal side and just make it difficult for the opposition. Wootton in his defence won more headers in our box than he did in Chesterfields.

In answer to your coaching point, I was referring to Vincent, left out the side far too long, gets his chance, us by far our most energetic and enthusiastic player, wins fans plaudits then for reasons only known to IB is dropped replaced by Brunt!! His confidence is shot and comes back half the player. That's what I meant by being a poor coach.

Given the change of tactics in recent weeks where would Vinny fit in? I ask because whoever he replaced would have ‘his confidence shot.
We now play a 4-2-3-1. His strength is his energy, we both agree on that. In this system he can’t play in the 2. They are disciplined roles that Palmer and Francis have been reasonable at. Can he play wide? Ahead of Roberts, Nemane or Sam? Not IMO. He can’t play up front so the only logical position he should and could play is Rubens. After last night I wouldn’t have any objection with that happening. But then would people moan about IB’s treatment of one of our so called better players?

This isn’t what happened, though. Vincent was hooked at half-time at Wealdstone with us playing 3-5-2, then dropped for Bromley and Grimsby, when we played 3-5-2. By the time the formation switch came around he’d already been dumped.

I think people are focusing a bit too much on needing new players, anyway. It wouldn’t matter even if we did get them, because we approach every single situation in the same way. We play out from the back, and if it isn’t working, the answer is always that we just aren’t doing it well enough and never that our tactics aren’t right for the situation.

We got ourselves in a great position last night, 1-0 up away from home in a massive game with half an hour left. But we were coming under increasing pressure from a team pressing very, very high and loading our box to target the fact we only had Cameron who could win the ball in the air.

The solutions were IMO pretty obvious. Rawlinson on for Richardson to give us much more aerial defence, with Brindley shifting to right back to give us a solid back four. We don’t need overlapping runs in that situation. Then Nemane on for one of the three behind Wootton with instructions to keep running into the huge amount of space they were leaving.

Instead we brought on Brunt for Vincent, making the XI even smaller and less physical, kept giving the ball away thirty yards from our own goal trying to play it out, and inevitably crumbled. It was bizarre to watch.

I like our style of football, and it works in a lot of situations. My problem is that we’ve become completely dogmatic about it.
