As long as Lutz can do the job, then he can kidnap as many penguins as he likes as far as I'm concerned.

I think similar. We need someone into the club ( a football person ) who will make better decisions regarding our football structure than Cormack, Burrows, Gunn etc have ever done.
We are supposedly a well run club business wise financially. I do not care about that though and would much rather we were far stronger in football terms.

Good luck to whoever the choice is. They certainly have plenty to get on with.

Been here long enough to know your hearts in the right place and I recall you calling out **** in the past.

We’ re all just pissed aff. It’s a mess. Bored myself asking where the Technical Director was after the ‘review’ and why JT was getting to take in his own folk, recruitment team, backroom staff, players etc when we were repeatedly told under Glass,Goodwin,Robson we had moved away from that. Gone full circle back to days of McInnes (before Dave stopped backing him). Recruitment is a bloody shambles.

We’re just rudderless. No direction. That’s on Cormack not JT.

I want to think Gunn going means he’s recognised that but I’ve not much confidence if he’s the one picking the new Sporting/DOF.

The Warnock debacle still gives me nightmares, I have no trust in the man’s judgement.
No need to apologise to me obi.

I took no offence to your comment, I was so pissed off last night that we lost that game I shouldnt have been coming on here posting.

But yes I agree the whole club is a mess. I noticed in one of Thelins interviews this week he said that he talks to Cormack on a daily basis which to me says that Cormack is still too involved with running the club.

Penguin stealing and match fixing aside I really dont think bringing this German guy in as director of football is what we really need at the moment.

He sounds like he wants his team to play a certain style similar to what Cormack has been trying to achieve for the last 5 years. I dont think we are going to be able to play our way out of this mess. We are in a relegation battle and need someone to come in and get us winning games, not worrying about getting us to try playing out from the back.

I don't know how accurate or how factual this is, But I remember reading somewhere that in the three transfer windows that technically Thelin has had he has signed twenty fcukin four (24) players in that three windows. That is insane and more so when you actually start to try and name them all it just goes to show how sh1te most them have been as not one of them out of twenty fcukin four have gone on to make a serious and significant positive impact to the team, not a single one.
Let that sink in for a minute

So you would say Mitov hasn't been a good signing for us?

Three young lads signed in the summer can't be included in your above either, as NOBODY knows much about them.

I'd say a few also contributed last season to winning us the cup.

Still early days min, but some will come good.

What would a successful signing rate be for a club? 50/60% With us having signed 24 players, according to your above post, that that quite a few won't succeed with us.

Ok pal I will agree with Mitov and I was really referring to outfield players.
The cup win was great and will live on in the memory of us all for a long long time, but we were lucky, we should have lost the semi final, then the second red card changed things.
But hey we won it and that's all that counts at the end of the day, so well done to Thelin and all involved, thanks again.

As for the signings, and especially the most recent ones big big let down every single one of them.

Couple of the young ones might be decent in a year or two but we need to sort this pesh now nae in a year or two

Yeah we have had a high turnover of players for years bus.

    2021/22 15 players signed
    2022/23 17 players signed
    2023/24 15 players signed

I suspect we will sign the same amount of players next summer as well, then probably the same the following summer.

I wouldnt necessarily say the huge turnover of players in the last year is down to Jimmy Thelin. Its the clubs transfer process thats causing us to rebuild season after season.

I think we need to look at the bigger picture of our signings in the last 5 years and why we are constantly having a huge turnover of players every season.

There are 2 players left from the Stephen Glass squad. Polvara and Vinny who has been punted out on loan by 3 different managers.

There are no players left from Goodwins squad, Morris was the last one.

Shinnie , Devlin and Clarkson are the only ones left from Robsons squad.

Questions need to be asked about why so many of these signings we make are not good enough and have to be moved on and then just get replaced by players who equally are not good enough.

There is always going to be signings that dont work out but we have had an alarmingly high rate of poor signings in the last 5 years. I think the club need to change the strategy of how they are going about bringing in players.

I agree. I hate ‘the model’ . I hate the ‘churn’ but I suspect the club would try to justify it by saying that in the period you mention we have also taken in fees for Miovski, Duk, Gueye, Morris, McCrorie and Ramadani.

Now you and I know that means nothing if the rest of the signings are the gambles that don’t work out and the team is utter ****e but somewhere the whole point of why we exist (to win games!) has been lost to be replaced by a potential ‘sell ons’ mentality.

Even if recruitment was top notch (and it’s not) suspect the churn would be much the same. We’re selling ourselves as a stepping stone. I feel very little connection to these guys as they come and go and in the meantime block progress of our own youngsters. I?ve always said that’s my biggest enjoyment as a fan. Right now I wouldn’t be surprised if Milne was the very last development player to come through.

The whole make up of the team is wrong, too many failures looking for resurrection for their next move, too many ‘projects’ and most of the experienced players are nearly all at the end of their time. There’s nothing in between. Just a mish mash with very little cohesion/character.

TBF to the new guys it’s harsh to judge them fully yet, they’ve come in to a misfiring team, but with that said can’t see many fees coming in in the next couple years…

Aye Rico as you say last five years.

Is it just me that thinks it is no coincidence that cormack took over November 2019
A few months to "settle in" and then ........,

We are in this fkn mess purely because of him 🤷🏻*♂️
