Not surprised to see the relegation season mentioned again when we lose a game. Notts may not be consistent but NCM certainly is#viva
If we all pretend the relegation season didn't happen you can make a case for Ardley being a decent manager.

But it did happen, and he was a significant part of it.

I am not pro-Ardley - first and foremost I am pro-Notts, which generally includes whoever the manager is. However, I am very much in the 'Last chance saloon' for him this season .

I have always said that this season will be very strange and unpredictable. I am not making excuses, but simply a general observation. 5 games off today because of Covid and we don't play again until 9 Jan. Can't begin to imagine when the season will end.

I get the feeling you are trying to blame Ardley for most of the bad things that have happened at Notts since he arrived, whereas I am trying to look at this current season as it is the one which will determine our future. The season starts with a clean slate each time in my version of supporting Notts. I will judge NA overall when he leaves based on his whole period in charge of course, like everyone else.

We are all fully entitled to our views and I think we are at odds only because we are interested in different things and therefore look at things from very different angles.

Presumably everybody would agree that we should be an improvement on last season.
It's becoming close though. We're only 3 pts better off now than after 14 games last season and the 2019/20 team would draw, win, win in games 15-17

I didn't say decent manager, you may have noticed I was referring to the lowest league position comment.

But yeah you are right this hasn't been covered enough on NCM to date. We need to determine how big a part of a role he played in it! Maybe a new thread is in order?

Regardless, he was part of the reason for the relegation season, therefore guaranteed to be out lowest league position. That's a fact.

As mentioned last season was guaranteed to the new lowest position as we were in NL for first time ever. Again another fact.

And this season IF we finish 4th or lower then we will have a new low. That will also be a fact if it happens

Hardly a sensational statement I'm sure you will agree?

Strange comment as surely we're both interested in Notts being succesful?

You believe Notts will be successful with NA as manager, I dont?

In real time when I saw the ref running over I thought it might be red, but when I saw the replay it wasn't as bad as I thought so yellow was right IMO.

What a mess this season is becoming.
It seems quite clear to me that on squad size and depth we are the best in the division and the players in the main are man for man better than those in the rest of the division. There can be only one answer the manager may know the oposition inside out and have watched all of their games for the past 5 years, knows what tactics will defeat them but he can't organise and motivate players to carry out those tactics. Proof is surely his total failure to get anything out of the really big games he has managed us. My take is that the players win games and usually try hard on the pitch but the managers lack of ability to organise tactics which suit his players and to flex them within a games means often the players are on their own, are often delivering a performance which is from 11 individuals and not a team. And how long is he going to let Ben Turner lose games for us. I make it three so far.
Automatic promotion already gone either on league position or PPG. Seems to me the owners are quite happy for another season in this league. Watch NCFC completely collapse when, after 3-4 years of failure they get fed up and walk away and the worry is they seem wealthy enough to lose the investment they have made if no new owner can be found. Being so cheerful keeps me going.
