Couple of points to add. In one of your earlier posts you made reference to the issue with the owners or words to that effect. You haven’t elaborated, what is the issue.

Going back to the 11v11 comment. Do you think IB was possibly simplifying?

If this post is aimed at me the only 2 issues I have with the owners is the player recruitment so far and the timing of the appointment of IB.

If IB was over simplifying then that proves my point!

Yes it was, apologies it wasn’t clear.

Be specific, which players have they got it wrong with? Considering there’s budget to work with. What was wrong with the timing of the UB appointment? Too early or too late?

    Which point would that be?

Anyway, you’ll be pleased to know I’m now off to the match.

    Great times
I don't know if it's just me, but it seemed that we had less injuries. We certainly didn't seem to get so many niggly strains etc - they probably just carried on! In my first season (71/72) I could almost name the team every week.

    Defence was:
    Brindley - 41 games
    Needham - 32 games
    Stubbs - 43 games
    Worthington - 46 games

    In addition,
    Bradd - 46 games
Jones 44 games (12 as sub)
    Masson - 45 games
    Nixon - 46 games (3 as sub)
    Brown - 43 games (keeper)

I doubt we will get 8 players who average over 44 games each now.

Remember that on top of those games, Jimmy Sirrel would play full scale games in training every week (and there were reserve games in the league too).

In 70/71 when we won the league, 8 players played more than 40 games and another 3 played 37 each.

We used 17 players all season and 4 of them played 14 games between them.

And none of those players were ever rested because they were tired!

Not to mention the 'pitches' they had to play on, or rather quagmires!

Why? Because you're saying 'I'm staying off here' "I'm definitely going' and flouncing off when your efforts to police the board and keep things 'positive' as YOU see it fail miserably, and instead of squashing comment just leads to more and more comments (guess that's a good thing).

Anyway the original topic seems like a 1st World Problem after today's debacle. Everyone's got more to think about than skills practice.
