You on the glue again min?

Of course the size of our club and where we play is a huge part of any decent manager with a decent record wanting to come here.

What realistically is our new manager going to achieve, 3rd place and a cup run, maybe even the group stages of the UEFA cup at very best.

We can argue the toss about league titles all we want but going to take a lot of factors to come together for any team in Scotland to break the rigged duopoly and not happening anytime soon. Going to be bad enough even getting into third.

If only it was a case of throwing money at the right manager (whoever the fuc* that might be) and everything would be fine.

Most half decent managers can happily stay in England or other countries, pick up a lot more wedge and put together a decent league campaign at a diddy club to raise their profile rather than get us to the holy grail of third place or higher in a season or two.

Yes.. Anyone think that DC`s ambition to not only win cups and push " nearer" to the League Title WHILE playing attractive attacking football NOW ( !! ) is maybe just a little bit too ambitious ? Bordering on naivety ??

With the advantage of hindsight, he surely must have realised by now that merely snapping your fingers and being so much smarter than the average Chairman just isn`t enough.
Club structures need to built up, and teams and a subsequent flowthrough of younger replacement players need to be developed over a period of time .

Now. In the aftermath od his genius intervention and takeover of the Club, he needs to choose another " McInnes" who can build it up over a goodly few years to get back to where we nearly were beofre. The change needs to come once we are back to bottling it in Cup Finals, and just failing to qualify into the League stages of Europe. Splash the cash THEN on the better players to take us beyod that level.

To be fair, we may just have ( accidentally ? ) managed to buy a couple those players 2 to 3 years too soon . Miovski looks like one of those players better suited to the big occasions. And Duk is , well just DUK !!!

Now for next season we need to find a Centre Half and a Full Back the likes of thon boy from Gronigen who signed for Celtic , and now plays for Liverpool.? We did well buying Miovski. Top marks to the European Scout. Kept our eye on him and dived in at the right time. Gives us hope they have another chance to do the same thing again.

Ach I`m babbling now. I reckon Robson & Agnew will do us fine for the rest of the season , at least. Nevermind what happens at Parkhead next week. He`s got them running about. And then things happen !!!

    COYR.

Honved and Ujpest are skirting with relegation, I presume we are keeping an eye out for any foreign players there.

Any idea on decent defenders at either of those clubs then DD ?

( But hopeful maybe . A decent defender from potential relegation candidates. But you never know ??)

I've no idea, and can't do any unofficial scouting due to probably being in Aberdeen until late April.

I presume the club are keeping an eye out though as it worked well for them last year.

Never been on glue in my life.

You are not trying to suggest we can’t find a better standard of manager than McInnes, Glass and Goodwin because we play in the diddy Scottish league? Of course we can….it’s just our illustrious chairman and the majority shareholder don’t want to be properly ambitious. Their talk of ambition is just talk…there is absolutely no substance behind it whatsoever. What decent players want to come and play for the likes of Jim Goodwin and Lee Sharpe? The supposed good players we had got beat by Darvel. They are not worth a bolt.
Before we address the player situation we have we need a proper manager in who will seriously evaluate our squad and prepare for what next season can bring. The type of players we sign can’t carry a poor manager and that has been evident. Time for us to seriously be ambitious and hire a manager with proper credentials.

I can’t see any decent manager coming here if they are told their aim is to finish 3rd.

Like you said that is what we are realistically looking to achieve these days so some of the guys that have been mentioned are never going to be interested in doing that.

Robbie Neilson finished 3rd last season and will probably do the same this season but I can’t see him ever getting a better job than Hearts, no one in England will be remotely interested in taking him on.

I think Cormack would have to show a bit more ambition than finishing 3rd and getting into the European group stages if he wants to convince a decent manager to take the job.
