    They're all politicians.

    They lie.

It's part of the job description, it would seem.
Always has been, always will be and they as a group never learn from their peers being outed. Sadly I feel the outings are but the tip of the iceberg and 90% or more of their collective lies go undetected.

Probably very true, although - despite all the inherent dangers - I suspect the internet will have a role to play in terms of both future accusations and accountability.

China - dictatorship. Russia - dictatorship.

USA is, IMO, not far behind with this megalomaniac in control.

USE may seem desirable to you now as but I don't ever recall you being opposed to it. To me it's not something I'm in favour of, although elements of common policy are more desirable in face of the big 3 flexing their muscles

Never wanted a USE and still don't, despite living in a country that would welcome it with open arms.

Your reluctance is, or at least was, understandable and is, imo, the only intelligent pro Brexit response, however at a time when we may have to respond to possible Russian/Chinese/North Korean ‘hostility’ it seems particularly desirable to me that the European element of NATO is united.

This was always a strong argument in favour of the EEC/EU and at a moment in history when there is such disagreement within the NATO alliance (USA at odds with both Canada and Europe) it seems ever more important imo.

Wow, Trump clearly siding with Putin. Is putting the blame at Zelenskys door, blaming him for millions of deaths and calling him a dictator.

Of course no-one has to take any notice of any 'peace' deal brokered by Trump. But it may be approaching the time to see if 'Europe' has a backbone. My guess is not but we'll see

Pre the US elections, I said, in a discussion on another platform, that I hoped Trump didn't get in, I might have also posted it on here too but can't be bothered to check. My reasoning was based on his apparent liking of Putin that he'd commented on previously. I said that Trump would be Putin's bitch and cave in, giving him all he wants. Fast forward to today and what is happening? Before negotiations have even started, Trump has said: a) no NATO membership for Ukraine b) no return to pre 2014 boundaries, so no giving back of occupied land c) he's blaming Ukraine for starting the war d) he says Zelensky is an unelected dictator (you could argue the unelected bit if you're pedantic as his term in office should have ended in May 2024 but nobody is going to have an election when you are fighting to save what's left of your country).

When I find the discussions on the other platform, I will most certainly be posting "I told you so"
