Would make my summer if Sevco went t1ts up, almost as much as it did when Rangers died in the summer of 2012.

This time, would surely be terminal.

Any financial gurus out there who can shed any light on how bad, sorry, good, things have got, in the light of the Ashley ruling?

Well, if the Elite . Hummel deal was reported to be worth £10M to SevCo, you could be damned sure that they would have been expecting to make quite a margin to cover that costs and make it a viable worthwhile investment.

As a minimum, you’d be looking at about £20M to provide a 50% CM

Except you can never believe anything reported in the weegia regarding Sevco. If it was reported as being worth £10M to Sevco, you can be fairly sure it would be worth nothing like that to them. I don't know enough about these things to speculate on the real sums involved.

What is clear is that they are going to be told to pay SDI a substantial amount in damages, and it seems that Hummel will be suing as well due to the loss of revenue caused by the mess they have made of it. I don't think that the number of tops they sold out of the back of a burger van before a pre-season friendly is going to cover it.

And no way will SDI accept a deal on Morelos or any other player to Newcastle in payment of that debt.

Yeah, I get that and also consider that it would have been paid in stages over the term of the agreement.

I read that Elite / Hummel had withheld a £1.4M start of season payment because of the debacle

Exactly. Perfect timing for Ashley with all the season ticket money banked now. That's all his once they work out the amount.
I guess sevco will be praying for europa group stages again. If not, they'll need a fire sale to pay wages

The sevconians really are a masterclass in stupidity.

A few years ago when Ashley was in charge they had a genuine billionaire. Not financed through dodgy tax schemes or soft loans from BoS like Murray did.
It was in Ashley's interest for them to do well. He gave them first pick of Newcastle's talent and interest free loans. Some claim they were just a few months away from running at break-even.
Not sure how they'd do against a Rodgers team, but they would have had a good chance beating Lennon's celtic to the league title.

Instead, they ran Ashley out of town in favour of a convicted criminal who was around when the old rangers died (and voted against the cva).
That genius spent £3m to get out of a deal that earned them very little - and replaced it with a deal that's costing them millions!
What money they do have is being spent on losing court cases, and there's only more of them to come
AND THEY'RE STILL STUCK WITH ASHLEY'S DEAL

    Not sure FTH.
All I’d say is don’t fall for all the pish on twitter from rabid Tims.
Looks like one or two on here have swallowed it all

While I agree to be sceptical, there's a few things that aren't disputed.
    1. There was a going concern warning in the last accounts. That's a sign of a company at risk of going bust
    2. The judge has said it will be several million due to Ashley. There's no evidence of money being set aside to cover this

That means they need to raise money. Cut costs, or sell off assets like property, or get a cash injection from someone stupid*, or likely a combination of all of these

    * fans via share issue is likely, as they're usually stupid enough.

There was talk that rangers were too big to die....guess what, they died.

sevco are going the same way.

The fact that there is even a sevco is down to folk like Milne.

I think we can all agree that we hate them. What I can't understand is that there are regular posters on here filled with glee and gusto yet those are the ones happy to follow Milne into a new stadium. The same Milne that wants a "strong rangers". The same Milne that has allowed *insert whatever you want to call them* into the league set up.

    You lot are mental.

They aren't going anyway. They certainly aren't going chebs up. They might have made a lot of dealings on the cheap but they've also spent a helluva lot more than we ever could and they've got their season ticket quota filled.

Aye they need to sell/move players on to balance the books...isn't that just common sense? Isn't that what they have been planning on doing?
