And imagine you went into a bar and found yourself discussing the merits of McInnes with Mason and Red John

And then imagine you went to the next table where afc1903mad and ragnarok were sitting......

He was unquestionably the brains of the operation.

Evidentially so and was overlooked for the role with Ian Murray being the preferred candidate.
He then left to become a youth coach at Hearts.

5 different coaching positions in 8 years, 6 if he does end up at the likes of Killie. He doesn’t hang around long.

Again I think Ross is a good manager and wouldn’t have a problem if he ends up our manager one day.

But it’s a bit odd slagging off McInnes for playing 1 up front and game management when he does exactly the same thing.

Yet had by far the lowest budget at Dumbarton & got them into the first Division. Go figure

Yes, I can well imagine that Dumbarton’s budget was blown out of the water by all of the other teams in their league , the season they got promoted. The likes of Brechin , East Fife and Albion Rovers. The financial big-hitters like that.

Tad harsh I guess as he was my second choice at one point to replace McInnes if we were to need a manager.

Pedant point, he was never Dumbarton manager.

Graham Potter long before anyone else on here and before he performed well in the Europa League Group stages.

Jack Ross would be a very interesting move.
He has done well so far.
A risk as never managed at this level before, but a worthwhile risk nonetheless.

Is there any other external candidates that would inspire choice?
I think Graham Potter would be a more ambitious move.
Took Östersunds FK from Tier 4 to Tier 1 in the Swedish leagues, straight into Europe and into the group stages.
He's assisted by Billy Reid as well who knows the Scottish market and developing youth from his time at Hamilton
