Just 100 years earlier Britain was leading the world in black slave trading & many of our ruling classes still enjoy the fruits of their ancestors ill gotten gains when the British Gov't of the day actually compensated them from public funds for "loss of earnings"
    Scary isn't it?
its history. Why ark on about something that happened 150years ago. Why not while you are having a whinge have a pop at the French for laying waste the North of England when it rose up in revolt. What bout the Italians, they butchered millions in this country. How far do you want to go back?

    Having a whinge?
Merely pointing out for balance what a sh1t nation we have been
If you don't reflect on history you will most likely repeat it in some form or another
I'll go back as far as I want
I would be grateful for a history lesson regarding the French & certainly the millions butchered in this country by the Italians

Let me try it another way.

Suppose you join a gym where the annual fee is £350, but you get a life time discount of £100 pa and you also get a cashback deal of £70 pa.

    1. How much are you paying per year?

    2. Will you be £350 per year better off if you cancel your membership?

It is irrelevant of how much I get off if the annual fee is £350 then £350 is where the deal starts off. That is why they do not say that the Annual fee is £180 per year.

Was there small print on the side of the bus that said: This is not true and not mean to be taken as true?

No, but neither did it say this is the truth either.
