A lot's been mentioned about the way we've been set up that's hampered him but we never really had the creativity in midfield or out wide to give him more opportunities which is a real shame so hopefully the money he goes for allows us to bring in a midfielder that can actually not give the ball away all the time.

Cmon Robbie where is that money bid for Butch?....then we can really put a player in with Fuchs who can play a bit.

The Butch is class, hopefully here for a long time yet, just what we need in there, captain when Reynolds doesn't play and will probably be the captain when Reynolds is gone, him, Fuchs and Harkes are really good together when there's is a back four behind them, see Saturday and Pittodrie in April and even Celtic home (0-0)

He gets right up opponents fans noses too, had the Sevco fans were raging on their match thread

Dunno why some of these guys aren't appreciated more, you will never build a strong squad getting rid of players like that who are very decent and have played over 100 games, we need to learn from the Levein/Houston era, it's not rocket science, sign better than him by all means, then you add strength in depth, get rid of lesser players like Hoti if you must

Fuchs is class though agree but Butcher compliments him well, there are defo games where all three won't be needed and that's where we need some creativity signed

I honestly don't even think we got the best out Shankland in the Championship, that might sound ridiculous given his goal ratio that season, but there were loads of games when the service was brutal to him and we'd rely on him taking the one chance that came his way. His goals got us out the championship, and i'll always be grateful to him for that.

Absolutely bang on.

But I'm a bit disappointed to see recent criticism of Shanks because we never, ever at any time put the players around him that could link and penetrate to create chances that he thrives on.

Where was Butcher Harkes and Pawlett at Pittodrie. Never saw anyone raving about THAT performance.

Or the pathetic display at Forfar or the abject non performance at Hampden. But one good game v Sevco and suddenly weve got Baresi and Pirlo.

But what isn't yet clear is if that's the proposed fee or what it would be worth with add ons. If it's a £1m fee it's double what their first offer was rumoured to be.

The article says 'just over €1M'. Later in the article it says €1.18M.
