If this signing is confirmed, the lads in the recruitment team and Mr Pace have done good, credit where it's due.
Agreed Sinkov pace does deserve credit for getting this lad especially when he has the scoring record he has - I’m praying we can get a couple more - I think if we sured up the midfield we still might have a snifter of a chance but alot is hanging on that ( imo anyway ).

Signing a decent CM would be a bonus, can't see it happening myself, but whatever, looks like we're going to end this window in better shape then we might have been. We seem to have retained Tarko and McNeill, for all their faults, if they'd left we were very unlikely to replace them with better, and we've possibly improved up front with Weghorst for Wood, it's about as good as it was ever likely to be imo.

If Cornet can keep fit and hit it off with Weghorst, who knows, it gives us a slim chance, I still think we'll go down though.

Tend to agree with the above. Weghorst is a quality striker and a big lad good in the air too - and IMO an upgrade on Woodsy - but there is still the question of how you'll get enough bodies in and around him and quality service especially given how Dyche sets you up defensively. You need quick decisive transition and I can't see that yet in your squad apart from Cornet, so a sharp midfielder would be a great addition.
Hopefully you'll get one today, but even if you don't I still reckon you've got a chance of staying up.

If it was me, I'd be selling Tarks, promoting Collins and spending the Tarks money on a quality box to box midfield beast with a massive engine.

Remember the Chris Farlow hit Lusty, "Out of Time" ? That's us to a tee!

    Sure do BT.
Another way to go might be to get a nippy winger like Lovric in and go 433 with him and Cornet either side of Weghorst. It'd be cheaper and you'd get goals.

Interesting Wanderlust - pondered this morning wether Lennon could do the job if we got right service to him ( his feet ),
To be fair to Lennon in the few limited games we’ve played he’s been up there as one of our better players.

I didn’t ponder long Dyche is 442 end off stop trying to change things 😂
