Thread: ⚽ Match Thread vs. Barrow 07.10.23 [EFL L2]

  1. #221
A few players have become scapegoats over last season(Slocombe for one) and this season with some of the fans and I can hear fans around me on players backs in the first 5 minutes - Cameron seems to be the main receiver at present.
Whilst we shouldn’t have to worship the players if they aren’t doing the business we shouldn’t be too quick to make them scapegoats which I feel we do which won’t help their confidence.
We can’t add to this squad until January so we ought to get behind Cameron,Rawlinson,Baldwin,Stone,Slocombe and OBrien who seemed to have been getting the most criticism

    Just so we are aware:
    scapegoat
    /ˈskeɪpɡəʊt/
    noun
    noun: scapegoat; plural noun: scapegoats

    1.
a person who is blamed for the wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults of others, especially for reasons of expediency.

Any criticism of a player who makes an individual error doesn't make him a scapegoat.

Okay maybe targets ... of certain fans - a group around me even moaned at Cameron when he chested it back to Stone on the 6 yard box, basically they can't seem to wait for a mistake to happen

You must sit in the Pavis I spent one season there & had to keep changing seats to avoid arguments ( not what I want when watching a match) strangely enough these were obviously long term loyal fans but I even witnessed them giving abuse to certain players as they warmed up to be brought on as subs, I know we all pay our money & so are entitled to our opinion but how anyone can think this will help is beyond me, strange behavour imo.

I never hear much criticism from the Pavis tbf, I sit in G but I do get either angry or amused depending what mood I’m in when angry man starts shouting, think someone else on here labelled him heart attack man 😂

Certainty do Block C although it will be B on Saturday - far better view than the Kop
Last season seemed to be better apart from mostly Slocombe then FGR at 2.2 brought a lot of them out
A guy shouts out against the ref from about the first minute think he’s in B although might be C
