Think Boris should contact the prime ministers of Germany and Japan for advice now. Strategy changes may cost a few bob, which he won't be happy about, but he's got to get on with it.

I'm not saying all of the govts actions on this subject are wrong Cayton. We do need social distancing and I think it is right to suspend the footy season for example. You would think that it should be quite simple to not cough and sneeze on others but how many times do you see inconsiderate people do this.

Yes we do need to protect old folk but a lot of old folk are as fit if not fitter than some young folk and should not in effect be locked up.

Part of the problem I think is that people don;t know if they have it. I am pretty sure I would know if I had it because I rarely have dry coughs and high temperatures but others like our lass who can hack away for England at the best of times would never know.

Part of me says get the bug serve your time for a week then get on with your life. I may even have had it already for all I know in a really mild state.

Agree mikemiller that we have to look at how other countries are doing things. We need a coordinated international effort where we trade ideas on what is and isnt working instead of going it alone.

It really shouldnt be that hard to get a grip of it if we get simple procedures in place even if they might inconvenience us for a while. We dont have to totally change our life styles just be a bit wary of what we are doing.

Looks insignificant doesn't it but we were in a similar situation a few weeks ago and the situation at the local aged living centre shows what can happen when it takes hold in a confined space of at risk people. 27 dead, 40+ more infected out of a population of ~80 residents. Over 80 staff also showing symptoms with 40_ positive tests.

The one thing about this bug is that it effects all classes . In saying that poor countries with poor health systems will probably get hammered, And yet some little tribe in the Amazon jungle will probably be blissfully unaware of all this and will be fine. Good for them is what I say. Just sort of shows if we had a bug which wiped the human race out these are the human beings who would get the human rece going again. Whether we would learn of the mistakes we have made and not co ck up again is another matter.
