Hugh Macdonald sums it up perfectly. A Hugh McIlvanney or Norman Mailer tribute would have been a wonder to read.

Seymour Stein - Record company owner (Sire Records) who discovered a load of acts including Madonna, Talking Heads and the The Ramones to name just three.

Also responsible for breaking acts such as The Smiths and Depeche Mode in the states.

    A very interesting life.

    RIP

looking at his google images, I would imagine his epitaph will read, "A colossus until he lost a fair amount of weight".

    😆

Hard to believe something as lovely as Nigella was created through the ballsack of one of Thatcher's main henchmen.

Reading the tributes by Sunak and Johnson about him, you can easily join the dots from Thatcher to now. C unts the lot of them.

Does that just leave Tebbit and Hesteltine to mark off for the full house.

Kenneth Clarke’s still frequenting the jazz clubs in his Hush Puppies, smoking stogies and necking craft beer to cool blue be-bop notes. He looks like a fûcking saint in comparison to the Falangists occupying the govt benches these days.
