Jones was interviewed last week and decides he has an opportunity to get back into management in the championship and sorts his contract out with Southampton. That was what he wasn’t prepared to do for Sheff weds thus Staton was kinda right.
He was offered the job last week and went to watch Saturday.

TS had originally wanted it done before the end of the week but NJ wanted to see the team live.

Interestingly, I understand that his application came later in the day and we had already had a name in mind but more applications came in over the period TS was away / about to leave.
