We have parted company with our head coach, Stuart Maynard.

A statement from our owners, Chris and Alex Reedtz, reads: ?After being unable to achieve our aim of winning promotion this season, we share the disappointment felt by everyone connected with the club.

?While football is a game of fine margins, and Stuart undoubtedly faced numerous challenges over the course of the campaign, neither results nor performances reached the levels we believe the team was capable of - particularly during the defining period towards the end.

"Stuart leaves with our very best wishes and gratitude for his considerable commitment and dedication to the role.

?In the near future we will provide a comprehensive update to supporters, offering more of our own reflections on the 2024-25 campaign while also outlining our approach to next season and beyond.

?Alongside our recently-appointed Head of Football, Roberto Gagliardi, our work is well underway to identify the correct coaching team and new signings to join us on these important next steps of our journey.

?We are highly optimistic about the club?s future and remain as committed as ever to helping Notts County achieve its immense potential.?

A good statement. It kind of suggests that they weren't happy for a while, but saw it through for his sake anyway. It also doesn't mess about with saying they're going to be transparent on their views for the season just gone, so maybe it might give some understanding what happened to the coaching team and what the overall analysis was on certain players and manager.

A really good thing to notice is the mention of coaching team as I think that we would have been poorer if we'd have gone up and tried to slot in a coaching team around him.

Can't argue with that. I won't say good riddance but happy he has gone. Might make a decent assistant coach somewhere - probably back in National League.

I think this decision is the right one for the club. I hope Stuart lands on his feet and gets a suitable job somewhere soon. He seemed like a decent, hard-working guy, and I wish him every success in the future.

    Now, onwards and upwards.

    Excellent.

I wish him the very best of luck with whatever he chooses to do next - he certainly tried his best, however that is absolutely the right decision for the club.
