People keep saying we will be well compensated but surely they only have to buy/pay out his contact.

I don't want to discredit LW in any way but how much of his success was his and how much was the recruitment? Scott and Langstaff came in before he arrived and provided 60 goals. Similar to what they provided at their last club.

One of the problems Burchnall had was a lack of clinical finishers, I know that's seems crazy as he had Wooton but he wasted a lot of chances even as a 20 goal a season striker.

What I'm saying is, let's not be too hasty in saying it's all going down the toilet

I can’t help but laugh. Basically, any manager/head coach that has won anything is no good, it’s all the players? If it wasn’t for Aguero, Mancini wouldn’t have won a Premier League. If it wasn’t for the class of 92, Fergie wouldn’t have nearly as many trophies.
Of course having good players makes a difference, however, those players still need a tactical template to play to. Those players need managing and motivating. A manager/head coach needs to try and get every ounce of ability out of a player. LW has done that in spades with the vast majority of the squad.
The next head coach has a good squad to utilise and I am intrigued at how he/she will keep this squad motivated, tighten us up at the back without losing the offensive prowess we possess.
2024 is already stressful as we look set to lose 2 of our biggest assets. I really hope it’s a bad dream and I wake up on Feb 1st and we have our current team and management but with a few additions.

He's contracted until 2027. Let's say him and Harley combined are in £4k a week which I don't think is unreasonable. That is £208k a year, over 3 years that's £624k

A lot of which we will have to pay out for new contracts for the new coach and assistant so how much do we actually profit from it?

    All of it!
If he leaves today, we stop paying his salary and then just start with a new head coach when appointed.

I'm sure there was a discussion on here in the past (a couple of years ago) where it was said that only a years compensation had to be paid as the contracts weren't worth the paper they were written on? I'll try and find the thread.

To add to this, it seems Swansea has spoken to LW before compensation has been agreed, Notts can withdraw permission at any point. That leaves LW in the hook if he leaves before his contract ends so I'd say £600k is the minimum we'll be getting

This is what I don't get. You meet a Clubs valuation or agree to it when under contract, before talks. As of last night, according to reports in Wales, this part not agreed & other things.
They are paying big bucks for a really unknown. He failed at Swindon, done well here but we are an unusual set up. The Swans won't be like us in player research & recruitment. He will be having to do his own work on this now you'd pressume

If a manager wants to go, he’ll go.

Swansea still haven’t agreed compensation with Southampton for Russell Martin.
