I'm pretty relaxed about this one, and excited to see what the Jatta-Scott duo can do.

What an amazing 24 months for Macauley - a County legend and the very best of luck to him at Millwall. Who knows, he might be back one day.

I didn't want to post until it was done, because I also want to say no player had more 4/10s and below than Macca last season.
His goalscoring record was amazing and workrate in chasing and closing down a credit to him, but my god his all-round game was so poor. I hope he can improve on that to hold down a place in a championship side.
I'm gutted about Baldwin, Cameron and Bostock but getting a sizeable fee for Macca seems like a good piece of business to me.

Really, seriously gutted about this one.
Our best asset gone - for peanuts.
What have we got in attack now? "Scottish Football Association!"
This coming season is going to be 5hit.
Ah well, at least we will have the most classy playing surface, which is all that matters, eh?

I haven't forgotten anything. I was aware of Langstaff before Notts signed him and Scott from Gateshead and at the time I said he could be the next Jamie Vardy. He's quick and knows how to score goals.

But I also can't see the relevance about the number of goals that someone has scored in non-league football compared to what they do on the bigger stage. My reference to Wrexham was that every time their fans saw ML play, they were underwhelmed and they didn't notice he was playing.

A 'flat track bully' was their term for him and it could be true - only time will tell. He was a good servant to Notts and did his bit when we needed him. I wish him all the best, for what it is worth.

He requires great service to score whereas Vardy, for example, makes goals out of nothing. Perhaps ML will become that - I certainly don't think 27 is too old. He's not hit his prime yet.

given his last two seasons and his all round attitude, it would have been more of a surprise if he hadn't been cherry picked to be honest. I'd rather he'd stayed, but a Scott / Jatta partnership is exciting on paper, and who knows who else is coming down the pipeline.

Don't understand all those standing in righteous judgement over the details of a deal we have no way of really knowing much about. Especially basing ML's 'market value' on what other posters have speculated. All the signs are that this Notts are quite astute.

It does increase the difficulty of SM's challenge though. Not only has he got to rebuild our defence, now there is a Macca shaped hole in our front line too. As someone else said, it's going to be interesting to see how much of LW's Notts style is left by next season.

I'm pretty sure they noticed he was playing when he scored that cracking goal to beat them at Meadow Lane.

Why are you going on about Wrexham fans are they the oracle of football knowledge ?

Mullin isnt that good either is he really ....I mean they rave about him but he has never played championship level.

The reality is who now cares about what Langstaff does he is no longer our player and we've got a big fee for him.

I'm not using them as any oracle, however, it was touted around that Wrexham were interested in Langstaff. Therefore I think their views are valid. Just the same as when we are linked with a player, our views are valid.

I believe that Mullin and Langstaff are light years apart - yes both centre forwards, but totally different players. I think it is a bit of a silly comment to say that Mullin 'isn't that good'. He scored 32 goals in his last season at Cambridge and was destined for higher things before Wrexham signed him.

I'm not questioning ML now that he has left. I started to question his ability against better defences after the 3-2 loss to Wrexham a couple of years ago. If we didn't have Jodi Jones as a world-beater last season, how many goals would ML have scored?

I apologise to all on here if I've insulted them by openly questioning the credentials of ML. I didn't realise that those were so easily offended.

When was that EP? I'm not questioning the goal, but how long back was it?

Going up two leagues and getting an hilariously massive payrise sounds pretty incredible to me?

I've said the same thing, I don't think people appreciate that a lot of his goals were multiple goals in the same game against weaker opposition. I do wonder how many points difference we'd have if say we limited his goals to one a game from a statistical point of view i.e how many of his goals got us points on the board so to speak
