The thing with this Notts regime and I’m baffled that most haven’t cottoned on, is that transfers or rather possible transfers are rarely rumoured until they are done. We have no idea who we are targeting or why there are delays. Football transfers can be complex and not as simple as meeting a clubs valuation or players expected salary. How often do we hear from players that ‘they first heard of the clubs interest several weeks ago’?
For what it’s worth I don’t think Notts will sell JJ or Crowley unless either wants out, the way they both played Sunday tells me they are 100% with Notts.
Championship have different rules to League 1 and 2. Championship clubs have been deducted points for breaches but league 1 and 2 not so. League 1 and 2 clubs have been docked points for not paying wages or paying a fee upfront due to financial difficulties but not for breach of SCMP, because to get around SCMP, an owner can just put money in directly

Roberts was sold because he was injury prone and didn't suit our formation anymore so to get money for him was great. IB didn't get us promotion although he put the building blocks in place to what we became under LW so to get a hefty fee was very good business. Wootton and Rodrigues couldn't be replaced in their respective January transfer windows so it would have been bad business to let them leave.

This is why it's so odd about Nemane and to a point Langstaff/Morias. It's been bad business to not replace either of those outgoings, so why did we do it?

Time will tell whether they’ve been replaced well, but I think the club would argue that they have replaced Nemane with Gordon and Langstaff with Jatta, and the fact that their ‘replacements’ were signed before they were sold is a sign of a club that is being run well.

Morias they’d probably argue wasn’t worth replacing because he might as well have not existed!

    Exactly.

All this nonsense about the squad before the window closes is mind boggling.
I know we are not Premier League but look at the activity building in that league… been very little movement at the top clubs, does that mean they don’t want to win the league? Or will the top 3 add to the ranks on or before the end of the window?

You said it was bad business not to replace the names you mentioned! However as you confirmed, the transfer window is not closed therefore replacements could be one the way as we speak...I think you are a little premature! I hope this is not a continuing problem for you..?!xx

What do you mean like for like? Position or ability? I doubt we’re going to find a like for like for Langstaff as that would cost 750k and 10k a week wages.

Jattas is his replacement and the owners said when we bought him they believed after a while he could be league 1 standard, his actual goals per minutes at L2 is better than Langstaff so at least he’s started well not to say he’ll emulate him.

I would hope we can get 2 in at least by the end of the window, there’s more clubs still looking for players I would say than done.

If they don’t then I think everyone on this board will say it’s been a bit of a c0ck up, till then let’s wait and see.

By like for like I mean a player that is a comfortable starter. And Jatta is a good striker, but how many chances did we not score on Sunday because we didn't have someone who'd pull the trigger? That is what Langstaff was good at so yes, we do need a replacement, otherwise we have Scott (who hasn't come back the same in my opinion) and a 36 year old McGoldrick to replace whilst also needing them to play left wing or number 10...
