I must admit it is concerning to me how a few folk still cannot seem to grasp how much of a bad appointment he was and continues to be.
Everybody is entitled to their opinion, of course, and when it?s different to mine I still see their point of view.
Re Maynard I just feel it?s so glaringly obvious that he is absolutely nowhere near the standard we operate at, or want to operate at that any other opinion really doesn?t even register with me. He?s quite possibly the worst appointment I?ve ever seen in football.
I,like many, many others have not previously called for SM to be sacked but yesterday was another level for NCFC, a level down.
I believe SM has gone as far as he is capable at our club, it seems now that the players just trot out do about 90 mins then clock off.
We had a corner in the first half and i am sure it was a training ground routine to get Abbott to do a worldy again, it was a flop, Palmer just cannot beat the first man from a corner. As said we are a shadow of our former selves, we look beaten when running out.
This is now down to management,or lack of it, pure and simple.
Considering where we were, a club on the up, with a feel good factor and momentum after promotion and a decent start to life back in the EFL.
To appoint Maynard was absolutely outrageous, and over the course of the following 18 months has completely ruined the head of steam we?d built up.
Yes, we?ve got into the playoffs. That?s not particularly an achievement seeing as the owners and head coach himself have said that automatic promotion was the aim.
Remember after the narrow Vale away defeat, where we?d been in okay form leading up to it, in his post-match he said we?re still quite a way off the target set. My guess would be 5 or 6 points. Just imagine how far off that target we were by the end.
The way he divides opinion in the stands too just isn?t healthy. Isn?t the club a much nicer place when everybody is pulling in the same direction, win lose or draw?
I?ll stick by what I said, this particular appointment has been disastrous, and one of the worst I?ve witnessed in football.
...enough, you moaners. How about...5-touch passive Palmer slowing the game most times. How about the saint?d Jones and others who had longer term injuries not returning to form. How about Jatta getting no service. How about inexperienced players not ready for promotion yet. Maybe this is a season just too far for NCFC. Stop moaning, panicking, blaming. Once players cross that white line it's up to them, not SM. Face up to it, we're not ready to go up. That we have come this far is a credit. Back your team or f off ...
Whilst I gain the impression that SM is lacking in providing the motivational skills required to get the best out of this team before and during home games, I have sympathy with your last sentence. I watched the game on Sky and there was a good atmosphere at the start of the game which totally dissipated by the time we were 2-0 down. Really hope that the fans and players will positively feed off the energy which will be created at the beginning of next weeks home game. As much as I am guilty of moaning when things don’t go well I should, nevertheless get behind the team and lift them when required. Honestly, I feel if Notts can, at least, get a draw in the first leg v Wimbledon then they still stand a good chance of winning the second leg.
