I have been involved in local Junior Football for 30 years . When I started there was no girls playing but now there is a girls team at most age groups. It's great to see but it does present a problem. The cry now is for the girls to have 'equal' playing time.

The pitches we play on are massively over played on. After rain they're a mud bath, dry and they're like concrete we regularly go weeks in a season without playing. So where are the extra pitches coming from for all these extra teams. Council are already cutting the budget for pitch maintenance. Are the boy's teams expected to give up their playing time?

On another note out Under 15 girls were training on the next pitch when I saw one produce a really nice drag back. I turned to my fellow coach and in all innocence said to my fellow coach 'She does a turn'

Just watching the Lionesses some great goals.
