    Hibees you make some interesting points. Like you I thought of myself as a wee bawsack at a certain age. Looking back, the real bawsacks in the education system were some/most of the teachers who conspired to make it the way it was and make life as easy for their lazy selfish selves as possible.

    I didna??t like nor was good at anything much until about midway through the second year. I found I could do some of the maths and science they were making a big fuss about in my head without writing it down. Rather than getting credit for that I was met with exclamations of surprise that a wee sh1te like me could do that. I could recite the first 40 elements of the periodic table from memory and do all the algebra they were giving us in my head, so I realised I was good at these things. I took Maths Chemistry and Physics and a few other O levels, hey presto it all fell into place.

    I simply wouldna??t be where I am today without the gems of teachers in the Maths and Science departments who

    English was my favourite subject as I was fortunate to be taught by ex Celtic Player John Cushley who sadly passed away a few years ago.

    Some school Hibees ffs...I had a teacher that just talked aboot Celtic and he did the Fixed Odds column for The Evening Times...McGinley and he went to the pub every lunchtime for a couple of pints and a smoke!

    He should have got a job in Glasgow Celtic Council and he'd be Director of Education by now.

    Used to look forward to Art & PE when we had Fitba.

    Cannae believe folk are saying Maths & English were their favourite subjects.
